The Union of Salaried Employees (TU, fi, Toimihenkilöunioni, sv, Tjänstemannaunionen) was a trade union in Finland. With 125,000 members, TU was a major trade union for workers in industry and industrial services, technics, economy and information. The union was established in 2001, when the Union of Technical Employees merged with the Finnish Industrial and Clerical Employees' Union, the Construction and Engineering Union, and the Swedish Union of Technicians and Foremen. Like all its predecessors, it affiliated to the Finnish Confederation of Salaried Employees (STTK). On formation, the union had 130,000 members, making it STTK's largest affiliate, and the fourth-largest union in Finland. In 2011, the union merged with the Trade Union Direct, to form Trade Union Pro. Trade Union Pro ( fi, Ammattiliitto Pro) is a trade union representing banking and clerical workers in Finland. The union was founded in 2011, when the Trade Union Direct merged with the Union of Salaried Employees. Like its predecessors, the union affiliated to the Finnish Confederation of Professionals (STTK). On formation, the union was led by Antti Rinne. He stood down in 2014, and was succeeded by Jorma Malinen. The Bank Employees' Union ( fi, Pankkitoimihenkilöliitto) was a trade union representing workers in the banking industry in Finland. The union was founded in 1968, when the Bankers' Union merged with the Savings Bank Employees' Union. It affiliated to Confederation of Salaried Employees (TVK). The TVK went bankrupt in 1992, and the union transferred to the Finnish Confederation of Professionals. By 1998, it had 39,300 members. In 1998, the union changed its name to Trade Union Direct. Antti Juhani Rinne (; born 3 November 1962) is a Finnish politician who served as Prime Minister of Finland from June to December 2019, and served as Leader of the Social Democratic Party between 2014 and 2020.
