Trade Union Direct
The Bank Employees' Union ( fi, Pankkitoimihenkilöliitto) was a trade union representing workers in the banking industry in Finland. The union was founded in 1968, when the Bankers' Union merged with the Savings Bank Employees' Union. It affiliated to Confederation of Salaried Employees (TVK). The TVK went bankrupt in 1992, and the union transferred to the Finnish Confederation of Professionals. By 1998, it had 39,300 members. In 1998, the union changed its name to Trade Union Direct. The Federation of Employees in State-Owned Corporations merged into the union in 1999. Confederation Of Salaried Employees
The Confederation of Salaried Employees ( fi, Toimihenkilö- ja virkamiesjärjestöjen Keskusliitto, TVK) was a national trade union centre in Finland. The federation was established in 1917, as the Henkisen Työn Keskusliitto. It was refounded in 1922 and 1944, then again in 1956, as TVK. Several of its largest affiliates left during the 1980s. By 1991, it had 15 remaining unions affiliated, with a total membership of 405,494. The following year, it declared bankruptcy and was dissolved, with most of its remaining affiliates transferred to the Finnish Confederation of Professionals, greatly increasing its size. The Finnish Confederation of Professionals (STTK) ( fi, Toimihenkilökeskusjärjestö, sv, Tjänstemannacentralorganisationen) is a trade union confederation in Finland. It has a membership of 650,000 and represents salaried employees in Finland. History The STTK was founded in 1946, to represent STTK's counterparts are the Central Organisation of Finnish Trade Unions (SAK) and the Confederation of Unions for Academic Professionals in Finland (AKAVA). Union Of Salaried Employees
The Union of Salaried Employees (TU, fi, Toimihenkilöunioni, sv, Tjänstemannaunionen) was a trade union in Finland. With 125,000 members, TU was a major trade union for workers in industry and industrial services, technics, economy and information. The union was established in 2001, when the Union of Technical Employees merged with the Finnish Industrial and Clerical Employees' Union, the Construction and Engineering Union, and the Swedish Union of Technicians and Foremen. Like all its predecessors, it affiliated to the Finnish Confederation of Salaried Employees (STTK). On formation, the union had 130,000 members, making it STTK's largest affiliate, and the fourth-largest union in Finland. Trade Union Pro ( fi, Ammattiliitto Pro) is a trade union representing banking and clerical workers in Finland. The union was founded in 2011, when the Trade Union Direct merged with the Union of Salaried Employees. Like its predecessors, the union affiliated to the Finnish Confederation of Professionals (STTK). On formation, the union was led by Antti Rinne. He stood down in 2014, and was succeeded by Jorma Malinen.
