Unidos De Vila Isabel
Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Unidos de Vila Isabel is a samba school in Rio de Janeiro. It was thrice champion of the Special Group and is currently headquartered in Boulevard 28 de Setembro in Vila Isabel. The Unidos de Vila Isabel samba school was crowned the winner of the 2013 Rio Carnival on Wednesday for its attractive and colourful parade highlighting rural life and the customs of the Brazilian interior. Vila Isabel obtained 299.7 points out of a maximum score of 300. History Football is at the foundation of the'' 'Vila Isabel, as there was in the neighborhood in 1945, a block known as Red and White. Portela (samba School)
The Grêmio Recreativo Escola de Samba Portela in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is a decorated, traditional samba school. It was champion of the 2017 Carnival parade and has the highest number of wins in the top-tier Rio parade, with 22 titles in total. History At the start of the 20th century, in Oswaldo Cruz, a neighborhood in the city of Rio de Janeiro there was a carnivalesque group of dancers called ''Quem Fala de Nós Come Mosca'' literally translated as "Who talks about us eats flies". Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho (15 December 1907 – 5 December 2012), known as Oscar Niemeyer (), was a Brazilian architect considered to be one of the key figures in the development of modern architecture. Noel Rosa
Noel de Medeiros Rosa (December 11, 1910 – May 4, 1937) was a Brazilian songwriter, singer, and guitar/ mandolin player. One of the greatest names in Brazilian popular music, Noel gave a new twist to samba, combining its Afro-Brazilian roots with a more urban, witty language and making it a vehicle for ironic social commentary. Early life Rosa was born in Rio de Janeiro into a middle-class family of the Vila Isabel neighbourhood. An accident with a forceps at his birth caused a disfigured chin. He learned to play the mandolin while still a teenager, and soon moved on to the guitar.
