Tunisian Ice Hockey Association
The Tunisian Ice Hockey Association (ATHG) (french: Association Tunisienne de Hockey sur Glace) is the governing body of ice hockey in Tunisia. History The Tunisian Ice Hockey Association was founded in 2009, and was later accepted into the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) on 22 September 2021. Tunisia was the fourth African nation to join the IIHF after South Africa, Morocco and Algeria. The ATHG has been an associate member of the IIHF and therefore has no right to vote in the General Assembly. The current president of the ATHG is Ihab Ayed. Ice Hockey
Ice hockey (or simply hockey) is a team sport played on ice skates, usually on an ice skating rink with lines and markings specific to the sport. It belongs to a family of sports called hockey. International Ice Hockey Federation
The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF; french: Fédération internationale de hockey sur glace; german: Internationale Eishockey-Föderation) is a worldwide governing body for ice hockey. It is based in Zurich, Switzerland, and has 83 member countries. The IIHF maintains the IIHF World Ranking based on international ice hockey tournaments. Rules of play for IIHF events differ from hockey in North America and the rules of the National Hockey League (NHL). Decisions of the IIHF can be appealed through the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland. The IIHF maintains its own hall of fame for international ice hockey.
