Tomás Vidiella
Tomás Humberto Eduardo Vidiella Baigorrotegui (26 October 1937 – 10 March 2021) was a Chilean actor, theatre director, and cultural manager. He is notable for his long and broad artistic career. He was the founder of the theater companies ''El Túnel'' (1970), ''Hollywood'' (1976), ''Anfiteatro Lo Castillo'' (1980) and ''El Conventillo'' (1983), along with his sister Eliana Vidiella. He is considered the father of café-concert in Chile, which he helped forge and develop with remarkable success in the 1970s and 1980s. In theater he acted and collaborated in various and successful plays, with national and international tours, such as ''Cabaret Bijoux'' and ''Viejos de mierda''. The Santiago International Film Festival ( es, Santiago Festival Internacional de Cine, links=no; SANFIC) is a film festival that launched in 2005. José Ricardo Larraín Pineda (April 27, 1957 – March 21, 2016) was a Chilean director, screenwriter, producer, and film editor known for his work in cinema, television, and advertising. Among his notable works are the films '' La frontera'' and ''El entusiasmo''. Life and career Larraín was born in Santiago, Chile, on April 27, 1957. He studied at the School of Communication Arts at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Larraín began his directing career with the short film ''La hora del sereno'' (1982), which he co-created with Vivienne Barry. Claudio Guzmán
Claudio Guzmán (August 2, 1927 – July 12, 2008) was a Chilean-American television director, producer, art director, and production designer. Biography Guzmán was born in Rancagua, Chile in 1927. As a young man, Guzmán enrolled at the University of Chile to study architecture, following in the footsteps of his architect father. In 1947, Guzmán had been appointed set designer for the Chilean National Ballet, the youngest ever up to that date. Sources conflict as to when Guzmán immigrated to the United States, but by 1952 he had begun to establish himself as a set designer in Southern California. Guzmán had also enrolled at the University of Southern California in order to continue his architectural studies. His lack of fluency in English deterred him from continuing, choosing instead to work at an assembly line in Anaheim. The worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 () severely affected Chile. The virus was confirmed to have reached Chile on 3 March 2020. Initial cases had been imported from Southeast Asia and Europe, and expanded into a large number of untraceable infections, placing the country within phase 4 of the pandemic as defined by the World Health Organization, with over 1,000 confirmed cases by 25 March 2020.
