Tanjung Aru Library
Tanjung Aru Library ( ms, Perpustakaan Tanjung Aru) is a public library in the Greater Kota Kinabalu area of Tanjung Aru, Sabah, Malaysia. History The library complex was constructed as a replacement to one of the old Sabah State Library branch building in the city centre which has been demolished after it was declared unsafe. Its construction was jointly funded by Lahad Datu Water Supply Sdn Bhd and Sabah Development Bank under their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, each contributing RM20 million for the project. The building was completed in 2017 before opened to public on 1 April 2019. Weeks after its opening, the children section on the first floor was forced to temporarily closed after its public amenities were vandalised by irresponsible visitors. Tanjung Aru
Tanjung Aru is a sub-district of Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, of Malaysia. Its main feature is its beach called Tanjung Aru Beach which stretches to over 2 kilometres long along with new skyscrapers. This beach has a lot of '' Casuarina equisetifolia'' trees (''aru'') there naming this town. It also has its own township called Tanjung Aru Town. Greater Kota Kinabalu
Greater Kota Kinabalu refers to the dense clusters of regional populated areas surrounding the city of Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia. It comprises the districts of Kota Kinabalu (also the largest city and capital of Sabah), Penampang, Tuaran and Papar. These districts are also part of the West Coast Division. It was forecasted that in 2019, the combined population of these districts was 1.1 million people, in a combined area of 3,277 km2. The population of Sabah stands at 3,418,785 according to the 2020 Malaysian census. This makes Sabah the third most populous state in Malaysia.
