Turkey Music Awards
Kral Turkey Music Awards (previously known as Kral TV Video Music Awards between 1995–2009, Kral Music Awards between 2009–12, and Turkey Music Awards between 2013–16) were the annual music awards in Turkey. The first awards were given in 1995. Award ceremony was held in Haliç Congress Center in last two years. History "Kral TV Video Music Awards" were first awarded in 1995. Until the mid 2000s it is considered one of the most prestigious awards of music in Turkey. After the mid 2000s it lost its popularity. In 2006 new categories announced such as Best poem or Best myth song for such attempt. But they were awarded one year only. In 2007 awards lost their prestige when news emerged about some of the winners changed in favor of some others. After Kral group has been sold to Doğuş Media Group in 2008, the awards have gone under some refreshments. Kral TV is a music television channel in Turkey owned by Doğuş Group. Kral TV was launched in August 1994 and became a member of the Doğuş Group in June 2008. Turkey's first music TV channel Kral TV, triggered the rise of other Turkish music channels and gave a different direction to Turkish music industry. Star TV (Turkey)
Star TV is a Turkish nationwide TV channel. It has been owned by Ferit Şahenk's Doğuş Media Group since 2011. History Founded by Cem Uzan and Ahmet Özal in 1989 as Magic Box, Star TV is Turkey's first private TV channel. The channel started its test broadcasting on 5 May 1990. For a brief time in the early 1990s, it was called Star Magic Box because the name Star 1 was copyrighted by another media corporation. Haliç Congress Center
Haliç Congress Center ( tr, Haliç Kongre Merkezi), formerly Karağaç Slaughterhouse () or Sütlüce Slaughterhouse (), is a building initially opened in 1923 in order to ensure hygienic slaughtering and supervision in Istanbul. Its architect is Vedat Tek. Since 2009, it has been used as a congress and cultural center, under the name of Haliç Congress Center. Arabesque (Turkish Music)
Arabesque ( tr, Arabesk) is a style of music created in Turkey. The genre was particularly popular in Turkey from the 1960s through the 2000s. Its aesthetics have evolved over the decades. Its melodies are influenced by espesically Arab Music, the music of Southeastern Europe and the Middle East, including bağlama music and Ottoman forms of oriental music. Arabesque music are mostly in a minor key, typically in the Phrygian mode, and themes tend to focus on longing, melancholy, strife and love issues. Description and history A very small percentage of Arabesque is exclusively instrumental. For the great majority of it, a singer lies at the center of the music. Male singers dominated the genre in its early years, but female singers probably predominated during its peak years of popularity.
