Tipperary Senior Hurling Team Season 2015
The 2015 season was Eamon O'Shea's third and final year as manager of the Tipperary GAA, Tipperary senior hurling team. In October 2014, O'Shea confirmed that he would stay on for a third year as Tipperary manager. It was also confirmed that Michael Ryan (hurler, born 1970), Michael Ryan will succeed O'Shea as manager on a two-year term after the conclusion of the 2015 All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, 2015 season. Declan Fanning also joined the back-room team for 2015 as a selector. Brendan Maher continued as captain for a second year with Pádraic Maher remaining as vice-captain. On 15 March, Elverys Sports, Intersport/Elverys became the new sponsors of Tipperary GAA, a sponsorship that covers both the hurling and football codes and includes all grades from minor to senior inter-county teams for the next two years. Tipperary County Hurling Team
The Tipperary county hurling team represents Tipperary in hurling and is governed by Tipperary GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in the three major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, the Munster Senior Hurling Championship and the National Hurling League. Tipperary's home ground is Semple Stadium, Thurles. The team's manager is Liam Cahill. Kilruane MacDonagh's GAA
Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "North-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the villages of Kilruane, Ardcroney and Cloughjordan. The club was founded in 1937 and is named after Thomas MacDonagh, a signatory of the 1916 Proclamation who was born and lived in Cloughjordan. The clubhouse and playing field are located in Cloughjordan. The finest day in the club's history was in 1986 when it won the Senior Hurling Club All-Ireland title, defeating Buffers Alley of Wexford GAA in the final by 1-15 to 2-10. The club incorporates many of clubs that existed in the parishes at the time. A forerunner to the MacDonaghs club was the famous De Wets formed in 1900. Portroe GAA
Portroe GAA is a Tipperary GAA club which is located in County Tipperary, Ireland. Both hurling and Gaelic football are played in the "North-Tipperary" divisional competitions. The club is centred on the village of Portroe which is eight miles outside Nenagh. History Portroe is in the centre of a traditional slate quarrying district of Northwest Tipperary, several kilometers outside Nenagh, that sent many emigrants to the Vermont USA slate belt in the 19th century, where to this day their descendants continue to receive honours in American football, basketball, baseball, soccer, athletics and distance running. Darren Gleeson
Darren Gleeson (born 19 March 1981) is an Irish hurler and manager who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Portroe and is currently managing the Antrim senior hurling team. He played for the Tipperary senior hurling team for 10 seasons, during which time he usually lined out as a goalkeeper. Playing career Portroe Gleeson plays his club hurling with Portroe and has enjoyed some success. In 2012 he won a North Tipperary championship medal following a 3-16 to 1-19 defeat of Toomevara. Bill Maher (hurler)
Bill Maher (born 21 January 1994) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays hurling and Gaelic football with his local club Kilsheelan–Kilcash and with the Tipperary senior inter-county team since 2015 and Tipperary senior football team since 2016. Bill made the move to New York in late 2021 and joined up with the Brooklyn Shamrocks GFC club playing under the guidance of Tommy McConvey. John McGrath (born 28 July 1994) is an Irish hurler and Gaelic footballer who plays for Tipperary Senior Championship club Loughmore–Castleiney and at inter-county level with the Tipperary senior hurling team.
