Three For The Money
''Three for the Money'' is an American game show produced by Stefan Hatos-Monty Hall Productions that aired on NBC from September 29 to November 28, 1975. Dick Enberg was the host with Jack Clark announcing. Enberg was also hosting ''Sports Challenge'' at the time and had just joined NBC's sports division. ''Three for the Money'' was picked up to replace ''Jackpot'' after it was cancelled after 21 months and was placed at 12:30 pm Eastern following '' The Magnificent Marble Machine''. The show only aired for eight weeks (with an off-air week near the end) and was replaced by its lead-in, following an expansion of ''Wheel of Fortune'' to sixty minutes. Game play Two teams of two studio contestants and one celebrity captain competed all week in a question-and-answer game. ''The Magnificent Marble Machine'' was an American television game show that featured a giant pinball machine as its centerpiece. The program premiered on NBC on July 7, 1975 at 12:00 pm ET, replacing the short-lived game show ''Blank Check''. Merrill Heatter and Bob Quigley packaged the program, with Robert Noah as executive producer. Art James served as host, and Johnny Gilbert was the announcer. This is one of the few Heatter-Quigley programs that Kenny Williams was not involved with. Gameplay Two contestants competed, one a returning champion, each paired with a celebrity partner. Spiegel (catalog)
Spiegel was an American direct marketing retailer founded in 1865 by Joseph Spiegel. Spiegel published a catalog, like its competitors Sears and Montgomery Ward, which advertised various brands of apparel, accessories, and footwear, as well as housewares, toys, tools, firearms and electronics. Their company brands included Newport News, Shape FX, and Old Kraftsman, among others. They also operated brick and mortar stores. Spiegel delivered its first mail order catalog in 1905 and by 1925, the retailer had 10 million customers. Spiegel's buyers, who went to Paris fashion shows, introduced American women to European fashion trends. After encountering financial difficulty in the early 2000s, the company was purchased by Patriarch Partners and focused on women's style and fashion products. Monty Hall (born Monte Halparin; August 25, 1921 – September 30, 2017) was a Canadian radio and television show host who moved to the United States in 1955 to pursue a career in broadcasting. After working as a radio newsreader and sportscaster, Hall returned to television in the U.S., this time in game shows. ''Sports Challenge'' is a sports-centered game show that aired in weekly syndication from 1971 to 1979, with a separate version that aired briefly on CBS weekends from May 20, 1973 to September 9, 1973. Dick Enberg was host. Johnny Gilbert, Art James, and John Harlan announced. The show was taped at the KTLA/Golden West studios in Los Angeles (known today as Sunset Bronson Studios), with the exception of some shows taped at Metromedia Square.
