Jackpot (game Show)
''Jackpot'' (also referred to as ''Jackpot!'') is an American and Canadian television game show produced by Bob Stewart which saw contestants attempting to solve riddles in order to win cash and prizes. ''Jackpot'' made its debut on the NBC television network on January 7, 1974 as part of their daytime schedule and ran until September 26, 1975. The show was videotaped in New York City, where Stewart was based at the time, and was hosted by Geoff Edwards. In 1985, Stewart teamed up with USA Network and Global Television Network for a revival that aired in both the United States and Canada. This edition of ''Jackpot'' aired on USA and Global from September 30, 1985 until December 30, 1988 and was produced in Toronto, Ontario, with Mike Darow as host. Bob Stewart (television Producer)
Bob Stewart (born Isidore L. Steinberg; August 27, 1920 – May 4, 2012) was an American television game show producer. He was active in the TV industry from 1956 until his retirement in 1991. Stewart is known for creating some of the most popular game shows for Mark Goodson-Bill Todman Productions. These shows include ''To Tell the Truth'', ''Password (American game show), Password'', and ''The Price Is Right (U.S. game show), The Price Is Right.'' His biggest success as an independent producer was the ''Pyramid (game show), Pyramid'' series, starting with ''The $10,000 Pyramid'' in 1973. ''The Price Is Right (U.S. game show), The Price Is Right'', created by Stewart, is the only game show to be seen nationally in either first-run network or syndication airings in the US in every decade from the 1950s onward. Chuck Barris
Charles Hirsch Barris (June 3, 1929 – March 21, 2017) was an American game show creator, producer, and host. Barris was known for hosting ''The Gong Show'' and creating ''The Dating Game'' and ''The Newlywed Game''. He was also a songwriter who wrote " Palisades Park", recorded by Freddy Cannon and also recorded by Ramones. Barris wrote an autobiography titled ''Confessions of a Dangerous Mind'', which was made into the film of the same name and directed by George Clooney. ''The Who, What, or Where Game'' is an American television game show that was broadcast weekdays on NBC from December 29, 1969, to January 4, 1974. The host was Art James, and the announcer was Mike Darow; Ron Greenberg packaged the show, which was recorded in NBC studios 6A and 8H in Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. Rules Three contestants, one usually a returning champion, competed. Each player was spotted $125 at the start of the game and used that money to wager on their knowledge of the questions presented. ''Hollywood Showdown'' is an American game show that aired on both PAX TV and Game Show Network from January to June 2000, then returned solely to GSN on January 1, 2001 and ran until March 30 of that year.
