Thomas Meyer Zu Schlochtern
Thomas Meyer zu Schlochtern (born 1946 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch art historian and curator, who came into prominence as director of the Arti et Amicitiae and as curator at Rotterdamse Kunststichting in the 1990s. Biography Education and early career Meyer studied art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam and the Ateliers '63 from 1968 to 1972. From 1972 to 1964 he studied another two years art history, criticism and conservation at the KU Leuven. In 1977 Meyer started as staff member (Education) at the Van Abbemuseum. In 1980 he was one of the founders of the artists' initiative De Fabriek in Eindhoven. In 1986 Meyer was assistant director of the International Sculpture Exhibition Sonsbeek 86 Arnhem. In 1987 he was appointed director of Arti et Amicitiae. In 1990 he moved to the Rotterdamse Kunststichting RKS (Arts Council Rotterdam). That year with Jan van Adrichem for Boymans and Ove Lucas for the CBK Rotterdam they curated the exhibition in the former Holland America ...

Manifesta
Manifesta, also known as the European Nomadic Biennial, is a European pan-regional contemporary cultural biennale. History Manifesta was founded in 1994 by Dutch art historian Hedwig Fijen. The first edition took place in Rotterdam. One of the coordinators in Rotterdam was Thomas Meyer zu Schlochtern of the Rotterdamse Kunststichting. Among the local artists brought into the international scene, were Jeanne van Heeswijk, Bik Van Der Pol, and Joep van Lieshout. The 2006 edition of Manifesta was set to happen in Nicosia, Cyprus, under the direction of Florian Waldvogel, Mai Abu ElDahab, and Anton Vidokle. In June 2006, Nicosia for Art, the city-run nonprofit organization sponsoring the exhibition, cancelled the event due to political turmoil around the green line of Nicosia. Kunsthal
The Kunsthal ( en, Art Hall) is an art museum in Rotterdam. It opened in 1992. Overview The museum is situated in the Museumpark of Rotterdam next to the Natuurhistorisch Museum Rotterdam, and in the vicinity of the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. Entrance to the Kunsthal is from the Westzeedijk. The building was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas together with project architect Fuminori Hoshino of the architectural firm OMA ( Office for Metropolitan Architecture). Wim van Krimpen was its first director. The Kunsthal has no permanent collection, but organises a wide range of temporary exhibits. The large space available allows various exhibits in parallel. It houses seven exhibition spaces, a characteristic auditorium, and a café. The range of exhibitions presented at the Kunsthal ranges from 20th century masters to current contemporary art movements. Hotel New York (Rotterdam)
Hotel New York is a hotel in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, based in the former office building of the Holland America Lines (Nederlandsch Amerikaansche Stoomvaart Maatschappij). It was used as temporary accommodation for European emigres in the late 19th and early 20th centuries: "Often, package deals were available which would combine a train ticket, hotel accommodation and passage over the oceans." When sailing from Rotterdam to New York was superseded by flying, the building became derelict in the 1980s. It was squatted in 1988. Van Abbemuseum
The Van Abbemuseum () is a museum of modern and contemporary art in central Eindhoven, Netherlands, on the east bank of the Dommel River. Established in 1936, the museum is named after its founder, Henri van Abbe, who loved modern art and wanted to enjoy it in Eindhoven. As of 2010, the collection of the museum housed more than 2700 works of art, of which about 1000 were on paper, 700 were paintings, and 1000 were sculptures, installations and video works.
