The Subversive Kind
''The Subversive Kind'' is the eleventh studio album released by the metal band, Deliverance. The album was originally not going to happen, as the band had announced back in 2013 that ''Hear What I Say!'' would be the final release. However, Jimmy P. Brown was contacted by George Ochoa, who stated the band should reunite. Brown and Ochoa added Victor Macias (Tourniquet) and Jim Chaffin, and the band went out to perform at Exodo Fest in 2016, alongside Abated Mass of Flesh and Silent Planet. The festival was a big part of why the band decided to reunite, as the band enjoyed performing together. The band would then hire Greg Minier (The Crucified) to record solos for the album, but then added former Deliverance member Glenn Rogers to perform on the album. Deliverance is an American Christian thrash metal band which later shifted more towards heavy metal and progressive metal. Founded by Jimmy P. Brown II in 1985, many members have either stayed in the lineup for a number of years, or left and returned to the lineup. Jimmy P. Brown II has been the only constant member of Deliverance. Thrash Metal
Thrash metal (or simply thrash) is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music characterized by its overall aggression and often fast tempo.Kahn-Harris, Keith, ''Extreme Metal: Music and Culture on the Edge'', pp. 2–3, 9. Speed metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music that originated in the late 1970s from new wave of British heavy metal (NWOBHM) roots.K. Jim Chaffin
Jim Chaffin is the original drummer for the Crucified and Fasedown and has played with many other acts, such as Deliverance, the Blamed and Left Out. History Jim Chaffin was born in Madera, California and began playing drums at the age of 12 and shows at the age of 15. Chaffin started his musical career in the Christian hardcore band, the Crucified. Chaffin founded the band along Guitarist Greg Minier, Bassist Kirk Palmer, and Vocalist Wayne Stonecipher in Fresno, California. The band formed in 1984 as K.G.B. Before the band changed their name to the Crucified, Lead Vocalist Wayne Stonecipher left the band and was replaced by Mark Salomon. George Ochoa
George Ochoa (born April 29, 1962) is an American guitarist that started being active in 1987. History George Ochoa began his musical career with the band Prophet. Ochoa was a part of the band alongside Dion Sanchez and Roger Martinez who would become parts of Recon and Vengeance Rising respectively. Prophet recorded a single demo before changing their name DeRoque. After a brief stint with DeRoque, Ochoa departed. Ochoa began the power metal band, Recon with Rey Parra ( Sacred Warrior). Recon went on for a few years until 1990. Before Recon disbanded, Ochoa joined the thrash metal band, Deliverance. and recorded on the most influential of the Deliverance discography, ''Weapons of Our Warfare'' in 1990 and '' What a Joke'' in 1991. Abated Mass of Flesh is an American brutal death metal band formed in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in 2011. The band consists of vocalist Matthew Plunkett, lead guitarist Zack Plunkett, rhythm guitarist Thomas and drummer Riley Wingate. Silent Planet is an American metalcore band formed in Azusa, California, in 2009. Their name is derived from C. S. Lewis' science fiction novel '' Out of the Silent Planet''.
