Abated Mass of Flesh is an American brutal death metal band formed in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in 2011. The band consists of vocalist Matthew Plunkett, lead guitarist Zack Plunkett, rhythm guitarist Thomas and drummer Riley Wingate. They have been compared to Devourment, Dying Fetus, Impending Doom and Crimson Thorn. History Abated Mass of Flesh is project that was started in 2011 by Zack Plunkett. For the first year, he performed all the instruments and vocals and released an EP titled, "Moth and Rust in the Temple of Putridity" on July 6, 2011. The EP was also released by Sevared Records. In 2012, Zack added his brother Matthew to take over on vocals and they began working on the next EP. They then added their friend Logan Hayworth to play bass after signing with Rottweiler Records. Soul Embraced is a Christian melodic death metal band from Little Rock, Arkansas, Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. It was originally a side project for Rocky Gray and David Sroczynski. The band was founded (sans a vocalist) in Monroe, Louisiana by members Layne Meylain, Mason Crooks, Brad Thompson, and Mike Butler. My Place Was Taken is a deathcore and hardcore punk band that originated out of Matamoros, Mexico. The band originated in 2014 and signed to Rottweiler Records in 2017. History My Place Was Taken began in 2014, as a project between vocalist Jesus Salaz and guitarist Abraham Barberi. ''The Omen King'' is the debut album by the deathcore band, Abated Mass of Flesh. Critical reception John Jackson of The Metal Resource wrote "This is one of those albums that leave you exhausted at the end. Despite clocking in at 22 minutes, the serving size is plenty large. The first few times I listen to the album, I had no idea it was only 22 minutes because it's tough to listen to and as happens in this genre, some of the songs tend to sound very similar, so I hadn't realized I was going back through the album. Those looking for something extreme will find it here and I highly recommend driving around with this blasting and your car windows down. Maybe even stopping to get gas and keeping this playing at full volume with windows down and door open.
