Silent Planet
Silent Planet is an American metalcore band formed in Azusa, California, in 2009. Their name is derived from C. S. Lewis' science fiction novel '' Out of the Silent Planet''. The group consists of vocalist Garrett Russell, guitarist Mitchell Stark, bassist Thomas Freckleton and drummer Alex Camarena. They are currently signed to Solid State Records and have released four studio albums. Their latest studio album, ''Iridescent'', was released on November 12, 2021. History Formation, line-up changes and first releases (2009–2014) Before finalizing the line-up for ''Come Wind, Come Weather'', Silent Planet held practices in the Azusa Pacific University music building. They shared practice sessions with fellow hardcore band Hepafilter, in which Russell was also the lead vocalist. The Night God Slept
''The Night God Slept'' is the debut studio album by American metalcore band Silent Planet. The album was released on November 10, 2014, through Solid State Records. It was co-produced by guitarist Spencer Keene and former Volumes' member Daniel Braunstein. Background and promotion After the band released the EP ''lastsleep (1944–1946)'' in January 2014, they set out to record their first studio album. While the songs "Tiny Hands (Au Revoir)", "Darkstrand (Hibakusha)" and "Wasteland (Vechnost)" had already been included in this EP, the other tracks were previously unreleased. Oradour-sur-Glane Massacre
On 10 June 1944, four days after D-Day, the village of Oradour-sur-Glane in Haute-Vienne in Nazi-occupied France was destroyed when 643 civilians, including non-combatant women and children, were massacred by a German Waffen-SS company. Those Who Fear, also known as TWF, was an American Christian metal band hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who were established in 2005. The groups' current label imprint is Facedown Records.
