The Rude Awakening Show
''The Rude Awakening Show'' is a United States morning radio talk show that airs from 6am until 10am weekdays on WOCM, a radio station based in Ocean City, Maryland. The show is simulcast via IRIE Radio. It is hosted by Chicago-born radio personality David "Bulldog" Rothner. It premiered on WOCM on January 10, 2005 after a six-year run on St. Maarten radio station Laser 101, one of the four stations of the Philipsburg Broadcasting radio network The show is broadcast from above Seacrets, a bar, restaurant, and nightclub located in Ocean City. WOCM
WOCM (98.1 FM, "Ocean 98") is an AAA/Rock radio station in the Ocean City, Maryland, area. The radio station's studios are located at Seacrets, a massive restaurant and nightclub campus located along Assawoman Bay in Ocean City. The station features an eclectic mix of rock, reggae, and other modern hits, in a format not unlike a college radio station. WOCM was one of the nation's first independent radio stations to broadcast over the Internet a live video feed of its jocks and visiting musical performers from its website. History WOCM is owned by Leighton Moore, who founded Seacrets in 1988, and is managed by David "Bulldog" Rothner, host of the station's " Rude Awakening Morning Show." Drew Curtis (born February 7, 1973) is the founder and an administrator of Fark, an Internet news aggregator. He is also the author of '' It's Not News, It's FARK: How Mass Media Tries to Pass off Crap as News'' in May 2007. He is a guest on WOCM's morning show ''The Rude Awakening Show'' every Tuesday. Curtis was the Independent gubernatorial candidate for Governor of Kentucky in 2015 but lost to the Republican nominee Matt Bevin. Fark Fark began in 1993 when Curtis was in England, sending links back to his friends. Curtis registered Fark.com in 1997 but did not begin posting links on the site until 1999. The first story on Fark was a news article about a fighter pilot who crashed while attempting to expose his buttocks to another fighter pilot. Fark is a community website created by Drew Curtis that allows members to comment on a daily batch of news articles and other items from various websites. The site receives many story submissions per day and approximately 100 of them are publicly displayed on the site, spread out over the main page as well as topical tabs that are organized as entertainment, sports, geek, politics and business). Curtis says the stories are selected without intentional political bias, but that he tries to run both far-left and far-right articles. Links are submitted by Fark members (collectively referred to as "Farkers"), which admins can approve ("greenlight") for posting on either the main page or one of the subsidiary tab pages.
