TF1 Group (french: Groupe TF1) is a French media holding company. Its best-known property is the broadcast network TF1. The group was formed after TF1 was privatized in April 1987. It is controlled with a 43% stake by Bouygues, and is quoted on Euronext Paris. History The history of TF1 traces back to 1975, when the Office de Radiodiffusion-Télévision Française (ORTF) was split into 7 successor institutions. To provide competition for Canal+, La Cinq and M6, the French government decided to privatize TF1 in April 1987. Since then, it has been controlled by the Bouygues conglomerate after its privatization. In June 2009, TF1 Group agreed to buy the NT1 channel from AB Groupe, as well as AB's 40% stake in TMC Monte Carlo (which would take TF1's total stake to 80%). NT1 (television)
TFX (formerly NT1) is a French free television network owned by Groupe TF1. History TFX, under the name NT1, was created in 2004 by AB Groupe for the launch of the TNT platform scheduled for March 2005. In late 2004, AB Group announced their intention to call the channel La Quatre (The Four). However, in January 2005, France Télévisions announced that they would rebrand their channel Festival as France 4. AB Groupe decided to revert to the NT1 name. In June 2009, TF1 Group agreed to buy the channel from AB Groupe, as well as AB's 40% stake in TMC Monte Carlo (which would take TF1's total stake to 80%). Salto (streaming Service)
Salto (stylized as SⱯLTO) is a French subscription streaming service. A joint venture between France public Télévisions, the TF1 Group and the Groupe M6, it was launched on October 20, 2020. Salto offers a library of films and television series from the three groups respective television networks, as well as exclusive programming. It also offer live access to their television networks, a catch-up service, and a selection of programs in advanced access before their original broadcast. Nimbus Film is Denmark's third largest film production company. Nimbus Film has to date produced more than 30 feature films and many shorts and documentaries. Newen is a French television production company, the producers of such shows as ''Versailles'', ''Braquo'', and ''Plus belle la vie''. In November 2015, TF1, France's leading television network, bought a 70% share of Fabrice Larue's FLCP, the holding company of Newen. Newen is the second-largest producer of drama in France. It owns Telfrance, Agence CAPA, Be Aware and 17 juin Me, with Telfrance producing the soap, ''Plus belle la vie''. Capa is the producer of ''Braquo'' and ''Versailles''.
