Sărmașu Massacre
Sărmașu massacre refers to the torture and massacre of 165 people, primarily Jews, committed by Hungarian paramilitaries in Sărmașu, Cluj-Turda County. After Romania left the Axis Powers and joined the Allies during World War II, between 5 September and 10 October 1944, Sărmașu came under the occupation of the Nazi-aligned Hungarian troops. During this period, Hungarian gendarmes and members of the Hungarian National Guard, led by captain of gendarmes Lánczos László, killed 126 local Jews (out of 142 who were living in the city at the time), as well as 39 Romanians, the latter primarily prisoners of war captured in the battles on the alignment of Oarba de Mureș–Luduș– Gheja– Chețani, during the Battle of Turda. Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan
Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan (; January 1, 1942 – March 12, 2008) was a Romanian actor known for his work in Romanian film and television roles. However, Moldovan focused almost exclusively on theater and stage roles during the later years of his career. Moldovan was born on January 1, 1942, in Vișinelu, Mureș County. He was awarded the UNITER prize for his career achievements as a Romanian actor in 2004. He died of cancer at the age of 66 at the University Hospital in Bucharest, Romania, on March 12, 2008, and was buried at Bellu Cemetery. His last theater role was in the Romanian play, '' Celălalt Cioran'', which means ''The Other Cioran''. Moldovan's final play was named after Romanian philosopher, Emil Cioran. Mureș County
Mureș County (, ro, Județul Mures, hu, Maros megye) is a county ('' județ'') of Romania, in the historical region of Transylvania, with the administrative centre in Târgu Mureș. The county was established in 1968, after the administrative reorganization that re-introduced the historical ''judeţ'' (county) system, still used today. Anton Doboș
Anton Doboș (born 13 October 1965) is a retired Romanian football defender, who debuted in Divizia A with U Cluj in 1988. He went to FC Dinamo București, Dinamo București in 1989 and helped win one league title before he headed to their rival team FC Steaua București, Steaua București, where he helped win four league titles. Doboș made his debut for the Romania national football team, national team in 1993, and got 23 caps, the last in 1998. He and was in the squad for the 1998 FIFA World Cup, 1998 World Cup and 1996 UEFA European Championship, Euro 1996. After Euro 1996 he signed with AEK Athens FC in Greece.
