Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan
Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan (; January 1, 1942 – March 12, 2008) was a Romanian actor known for his work in Romanian film and television roles. However, Moldovan focused almost exclusively on theater and stage roles during the later years of his career. Moldovan was born on January 1, 1942, in Vișinelu, Mureș County. He was awarded the UNITER prize for his career achievements as a Romanian actor in 2004. He died of cancer at the age of 66 at the University Hospital in Bucharest, Romania, on March 12, 2008, and was buried at Bellu Cemetery. His last theater role was in the Romanian play, '' Celălalt Cioran'', which means ''The Other Cioran''. Moldovan's final play was named after Romanian philosopher, Emil Cioran. Romanian President Traian Băsescu posthumously appointed Moldovan Knight of the Order of the Star of Romania on March 15, 2008. Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan - Horia
Ovidiu (, historical name: ''Canara'', tr, Kanara) is a town situated a few kilometres north of Constanța in Constanța County, Northern Dobruja, Romania. Ovidiu is quite small, with a population of around 12,000, and many wealthy inhabitants of Constanța retire there. It officially became a town in 1989, as a result of the Romanian rural systematization program. In 1930, the town was renamed ''Ovidiu'' after the Roman poet Ovid ( lat, Ovidius). He was supposedly buried on a nearby small island (also called ''Ovidiu'') in the Siutghiol Lake. Administration The town of Ovidiu administers the villages of Poiana (historical names: ''Cocoșul'' - until 1964, tr, Horozlar - until 1926) and Culmea. The latter was established in 2011 by legally separating from Ovidiu two territorially distinct communities, Social Group Culmea and Social Group Nazarcea. Profetul, Aurul și Ardelenii
''The Prophet, the Gold and the Transylvanians'' ( ro, Profetul, aurul și ardelenii) is a 1978 Romanian film directed by Romanian director Dan Pița. It is the first in a Red Western trilogy that also comprises '' The Artiste, the Dollars and the Transylvanians'' and ''The Oil, the Baby and the Transylvanians''. The film's dialogue is in English and Romanian. Plot The mining town of Cedar City, Utah, is ruled by Mr. Walthrope, a polygamous Mormon prophet (Victor Rebengiuc), his son the marshall (Gheorghe Visu) and their band of ruffians. John Brad (Ovidiu Iuliu Moldovan) is falsely accused of shooting a gunfighter sent against him by the prophet in the back and has to flee.
