Sønderborg Line
The Sønderborg railway line (), also known as the Tinglev–Sønderborg railway line () is a long branch line in Southern Jutland, Denmark which runs between the towns of Tinglev and Sønderborg. The railway line links with the Fredericia–Padborg railway line and the rest of the Danish rail network at . The standard gauge railway line is single track (rail), single track and Railway electrification, electrified. History The railway line was built during the period when the area belonged to the German Empire. On July 15 1901, the line was put into operation by the Prussian state railways. At the opening, the primary line connected with via , with a branch line from to . After the 1920 Schleswig plebiscites, the area became part of the Kingdom of Denmark, and the railway line was taken over by the Danish State Railways (DSB). The history of rail transport began before the beginning of the common era. It can be divided into several discrete periods defined by the principal means of track material and motive power used. Danish State Railways
