Sándor Szabó (fencer)
Sándor Szabó (29 January 1941 – 7 August 1992) was a Hungarian fencer who specialized in the foil discipline. He represented Hungary in three consecutive Summer Olympics, participating in both the individual and team foil events in 1964, 1968, and 1972. Early life Sándor Szabó was born on 29 January 1941 in Hungary. Public documentation on his early life is limited, but it is known that he trained within Hungary’s state-supported sports system, which had produced multiple Olympic fencing champions. Career Szabó began competing internationally in the 1960s and earned a place on the Hungarian national fencing team. He made his Olympic debut at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where he competed in both the individual and team foil events. The 1972 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XX Olympiad () and officially branded as Munich 1972 (; ), were an international multi-sport event held in Munich, West Germany, from 26 August to 11 September 1972.
