Swedish PGA Championship (women)
The Swedish PGA Championship for women is a golf tournament played annually in Sweden since 1997. It has been an event on the Swedish Golf Tour (women), Swedish Golf Tour since inception and featured on the LET Access Series since 2012. A corresponding Swedish PGA Championship for men has been played since 1970. There is also a Swedish club pro PGA championship, limited to club professionals in Sweden, with separate competitions for men, women and senior men categories. Albatross Golf Club
Albatross Golf Club is a golf club located 9 km north of central Gothenburg, Sweden. It has hosted the Volvo International Tournament on the Ladies European Tour. History The club was admitted to the Swedish Golf Federation in 1974 and the first 18 hole course was inaugurated in 1975. With global vehicle manufacturer Volvo headquartered in Gothenburg, it was only natural for the up-and-coming club to host the Volvo International Tournament, the first Ladies European Tour event held outside the UK and France, starting in 1980. The club also hosted the Volvo Albatross, Tour Final of the Swedish Golf Tour 1986–1989, with winners such as Magnus Persson (golfer), Magnus Persson, Anders Sørensen and Magnus Sunesson. Amongst the successful players to represent the club are Ladies European Tour players Helene Koch and Kärstin Ehrnlund and Mats Lanner, PGA European Tour, European Tour winner and member of the winning Swedish team at the 1991 Dunhill Cup. 2021 Swedish Golf Tour (women)
The 2021 Swedish Golf Tour, branded the Nordic Golf Tour, was the 36th season of the Swedish Golf Tour, a series of professional golf tournaments for women held in Sweden. The tournaments also featured on the 2021 LET Access Series (LETAS). Schedule The schedule had a reduced number of tournaments and was subject to change due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ranking The ranking was called the ''Road to Skaftö Open'', and the top two players Lily May Humphreys and Sofie Bringner received wildcards to the Skaftö Open played 26–29 August on the 2021 Ladies European Tour. Johanna Gustavsson
Johanna Gustavsson (born 13 December 1992) is a Swedish professional golfer and member of the Ladies European Tour. In 2022, she was runner-up at the Saudi Ladies International, the Women's NSW Open and the Aramco Team Series – Bangkok, before captaining the winning team at the Aramco Team Series – New York. Professional career Gustavsson finished fourth place at the Lalla Aicha Ladies European Tour School pre-qualifying in 2014, but narrowly missed out at the final stage, and joined the 2015 LET Access Series. She won her first professional event, the 2015 Larvik Ladies Open, in a record-breaking 14-hole sudden-death playoff against Natalia Escuriola Martinez of Spain. Tonje Daffinrud
Tonje Frydenberg Daffinrud (born 19 September 1991) is a retired Norwegian professional golfer. She played on the Ladies European Tour between 2015 and 2021, and represented Norway at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Amateur career As a junior, Daffinrud represented Europe at the 2009 Junior Solheim Cup. She also represented the Norwegian National Team at the European Ladies' Team Championship and Espirito Santo Trophy. She played collegiate golf with the Denver Pioneers, like her compatriot Espen Kofstad, and graduated from the University of Denver in 2014 with a degree in International Business and Economics. The 2019 LET Access Series was a series of professional women's golf tournaments held from April through October 2019 across Europe. The LET Access Series is the second-tier women's professional golf tour in Europe and is the official developmental tour of the Ladies European Tour. Tournament results The table below shows the 2019 schedule. The numbers in brackets after the winners' names show the number of career wins they had on the LET Access Series up to and including that event. Order of Merit rankings The top five players on the LETAS Order of Merit earn LET membership for the Ladies European Tour. Players finishing in positions 6–20 get to skip the first stage of the qualifying event and automatically progress to the final stage of the Lalla Aicha Tour School. Elin Arvidsson (born 26 July 1992) is a Swedish professional golfer and Ladies European Tour player. She previously played on the U.S.-based Epson Tour. Early life and amateur career Arvidsson was born in Falkenberg and started playing golf with her family at an early age. She competed on the Skandia Tour, a junior circuit, from her early teens. In 2020, she lost the final of the Swedish Junior Matchplay Championship at Lidingö Golf Club to Isabella Deilert, 1 up. Arvidsson graduated from the Swedish National Golf High School in 2011 and followed in the footsteps of her older brother, Christoffer, who played college golf in Texas, at Texas State University. The 2020 Swedish Golf Tour was the 35th season of the Swedish Golf Tour, a series of professional golf tournaments for women held in Sweden. Schedule The season saw an attempt to rebrand the existing set of tournaments as a pan- Nordic tour, and launch the Nordic Golf Tour (NGT). However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the events outside Sweden were cancelled and the remaining Swedish events were removed from the 2020 LET Access Series (LETAS) schedule.
