2018 Swedish Golf Tour (women)
The 2018 Swedish Golf Tour was the 33rd season of the Swedish Golf Tour, a series of professional golf tournaments for women held in Sweden and Norway. A number of the tournaments also featured on the 2018 LET Access Series (LETAS). Schedule The season consisted of 13 tournaments played between May and September, where two events were held in Norway. Isabella Ramsay
Isabella Ramsay (born 12 July 1987) is a Swedish professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour. Career Ramsay turned professional in 2006 and joined the Swedish Golf Tour (SGT) in 2007. She won her first two SGT events in 2012, and joined the LET Access Series in 2013. In the 2014 LET Access Series, she won the Kristianstad Ã…hus Ladies PGA Open and the Royal Belgian Golf Federation LETAS Trophy, and graduated to the Ladies European Tour as one of the top-5 on the Order of Merit along with Daisy Nielsen, Lina Boqvist, Tonje Daffinrud and Emma Westin. Annelie Sjöholm
Annelie Sjöholm (born 7 September 1995) is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the Ladies European Tour. Career Sjöholm started to play golf when she was eight years old. She played handball and football for six years but stopped when she was 13 to focus on golf. She won nine junior tournaments between 2009 and 2015, and attributes her success to her aspiration to beat her twin brother Tobias, with whom she toured Sweden competing on the junior circuit. Sjöholm played college golf at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, between 2014 and 2018. She was runner-up in her college debut at the LPGA Xavier Invitational behind Tiffany Chan. In 2016, she helped lead the Campbell Lady Camels golf team to the conference title and was runner-up in the Big South Championship. Slite Open
Slite is a locality situated in Gotland Municipality, Gotland County, on the island of Gotland, Sweden with 1,500 inhabitants in 2014. Geography Slite is situated on the northern east coast of Gotland. The town is divided by the Sjuströmmar inlet, connecting Bogevik bay with the Baltic Sea. The Swedish PGA Championship for women is a golf tournament played annually in Sweden since 1997. It has been an event on the Swedish Golf Tour (women), Swedish Golf Tour since inception and featured on the LET Access Series since 2012. A corresponding Swedish PGA Championship for men has been played since 1970. There is also a Swedish club pro PGA championship, limited to club professionals in Sweden, with separate competitions for men, women and senior men categories. Sofie Bringner
Sofie Bringner (born 14 July 1997) is a Swedish professional golfer. She won the 2021 Swedish Matchplay Championship and finished fifth in the 2021 LET Access Series rankings to secure Ladies European Tour membership for 2022. Career Bringner grew up in Henån, Bohuslän and started competing in golf at age 12. In 2015, she had a successful season and won four junior tournaments, which helped her qualify for the Annika Invitational Europe. She graduated from Sinclairgymnasiet in Uddevalla in 2016 and switched clubs from her local Orust Golf Club to train at Hills Golf Club in Gothenburg, deciding to forego the U.S. college path. ÖsterÃ¥ker Golf Club (ÖsterÃ¥kers Golfklubb) is a golf club situated in Ã…kersberga 20 km northeast of Stockholm, Sweden. It has hosted the Compaq Open on the Ladies European Tour. History Opened in 1988 and co-designed by Sven Tumba and Jan Sederholm, the club was one of few in Sweden ambitious enough to build 36 holes at the outset. It hosted national and international tournaments throughout the 1990s. By 2015 the club worried it could not keep pace with the new championship courses built in the Stockholm metropolitan area. The Swedish Match Play Championship is a golf tournament played since 1904, held for both men and women. It is the oldest and most traditional golf tournament in Sweden. The name SM is shortening in Swedish language for "Svenska Mästerskapet" (the Swedish Championship). History From the first tournament in 1904 (for men) and 1911 (for women) until 1983, it was an amateur tournament, from 1910 open only for Swedish citizens, and the winner was the official Swedish champion.
