Stéphane Delplace
Stéphane Delplace (born 11 November 1953) is a French composer. Biography Delplace was born in Bordeaux. He studied piano under Pierre Sancan, as well as Harmony ( Alain Bernaud), Counterpoint (Jean-Paul Holstein), Fugue ( Michel Merlet), and Orchestration (Serge Nigg) at the Conservatoire de Paris, from 1979 to 1984, in addition to studying the Organ with Jean Galard through the Ville de Paris. Delplace began to compose in the mid-1980s, with a firm conviction, though unpopular at the time, that tonal music still hides infinite unexplored territories. Never parting from this ideal, his music finds its roots in that of Bach, Brahms, Fauré, Ravel, Prokofiev... This determination to write tonal music has naturally kept him far from official contemporary music circles. Thierry Joseph-Louis Escaich (born 8 May 1965) is a French organist and composer. Life Born in Nogent-sur-Marne, Escaich studied organ, improvisation and composition at the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP), where he won eight First Prizes and where he has taught improvisation and composition since 1992. Together with Vincent Warnier, he was appointed organist of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont church in Paris in 1996 (succeeding Maurice Duruflé). He tours internationally as a performing artist and composer. His passion for the cinema has led him to improvise on the piano and the organ; he composed music for Frank Borzage's silent film '' Seventh Heaven'', commissioned by the Louvre in 1999. Henri Demarquette (born 1970) is a French contemporary classical cellist. Bertrand Chamayou (born 23 March 1981) is a French pianist. Career Born in Toulouse, Chamayou studied at the Conservatoire de Toulouse under the tutelage of Claudine Willoth, making his first forays into contemporary music and composition. At the age of 15, with the encouragement of pianist-conductor Jean-François Heisser, Chamayou continued his studies at the Conservatoire de Paris. Florent Schmitt (; 28 September 187017 August 1958) was a French composer. He was part of the group known as Les Apaches. His most famous pieces are ''La tragédie de Salome'' and ''Psaume XLVII'' (Psalm 47). He has been described as "one of the most fascinating of France's lesser-known classical composers".
