Studio Incamminati is a private school for Contemporary Realist Art in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was founded by the late Nelson Shanks and his wife, Leona Shanks in 2002 and is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. Nelson Shanks
John Nelson Shanks (December 23, 1937 – August 28, 2015) was an American artist and painter. His best known works include his portrait of Diana, Princess of Wales, first shown at Hirschl & Adler Gallery in New York City, April 24 to June 28, 1996 and the portrait of president Bill Clinton for the National Portrait Gallery (United States), National Portrait Gallery. Shanks had been on the faculty of the Memphis Academy of Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Students League of New York, the National Academy of Design and Studio Incamminati and was a resident of Andalusia, Pennsylvania. He was an honorary member of the American Society of Classical Realism Guild of Artists. National Association Of Schools Of Art And Design
The National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), founded in 1944, is an accrediting organization of colleges, schools and universities in the United States. The organization establishes standards for graduate and undergraduate degrees. Member institutions complete periodic peer review processes to become, and remain, accredited. NASAD accreditation should not be confused with regional accreditation. Standards for accreditation The National Association for Schools of Art and Design has stringent criteria for accrediting schools. Patrick Connors
Patrick M. Connors is an American law professor and legal commentator. Education & Early career A graduate of Chaminade High School, Professor Connors earned a B.A. from Georgetown University in 1985 and a Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law in 1988. While at St. John's, Connors was a member of the editorial board of the St. John's Law Review and a research assistant to David D. Siegel. After graduating from law school, Connors clerked for New York Court of Appeals Judge Richard D. Simons for three years before joining the Syracuse, New York law firm of Hancock & Estabrook. During Connors nine years with the firm he was also an adjunct professor at Syracuse University School of Law. Writing Connors joined the faculty of Albany Law School in 2000. The Accademia degli Incamminati (Italian for "Academy of Those who are Making Progress" or "Academy of the Journeying") was one of the first art academies in Italy, founded in 1582 in Bologna. It was founded as the Accademia dei Desiderosi ("Academy of the Desirous") and sometimes known as the Accademia dei Carracci after its founders the three Carracci cousins: Agostino, Annibale and Ludovico. Annibale headed the institution thanks to his strong personality. The birth of this and other academies indicated artists' desire to be seen on the same level as poets and musicians, rather than as just artisans and the Accademia degli Incamminati soon providing a meeting space for other intellectuals, such as the doctor Melchiorre Zoppio and the astronomer Giovanni Antonio Magini, who both frequented it. Arnold Gordon Wetmore was an American theologian who was president emeritus of the Nazarene Theological Seminary and a former president of the Northwest Nazarene College.
