State Provincial Office Of Kuopio
The Kuopio Governor Palace or State Provincial Office of Kuopio ( fi, Kuopion lääninhallitusrakennus) is a former government building in Kuopio, Finland, located in the Väinölänniemi district on the Hallituskatu street in the immediate vicinity of Kuopionlahti and Väinölänniemi parks. It was designed by architect Konstantin Kiseleff, who completed the building plan in 1882. The staff of the Administrative Board of the Kuopio Province moved into the building in 1885. It represents the architectural style of the Neo-Renaissance. The building is fully protected from both the outside and inside. Kuopio Province
The Kuopio Province ( fi, Kuopion lääni, sv, Kuopio län, russian: Куопиоская губерния) was a province of Finland from 1831 to 1997. The province was named after its capital, city of Kuopio. History The predecessor of province was the County of Savolax and Karelia, which was established in 1775 when Finland was integrated part of Sweden. As a consequence of the tumultuous conflicts of the Napoleonic Wars, Sweden had allied itself with the Russian Empire, United Kingdom and the other parties of the Fourth Coalition against Napoleonic France. However, following the treaty of Treaty of Tilsit in 1807, Russia made peace with France and left the coalition. This enabled Russia in 1808 to challenge Sweden in the Finnish War, over the control of Finland. Kuopio City Hall
Kuopio City Hall is a town hall in center of the Kuopio, Finland, near the Kuopio Market Square. It was designed by Finnish architects F. A. Sjöström and Josef Stenbäck, and was completed in 1886. Stylistically, the city hall is of the Neo-Renaissance of the second half of the 19th century. The current exterior coloring of the house dates back to 1974. In the most beautiful municipal buildings poll, in 2009 Kuopio City Hall was chosen among the three most beautiful municipal buildings. When completed, it sovereignly controlled the northern edge of the market square, the area around the square was still completely wooden at that time.
