St. John's Church, Secunderabad is a historic building, built in 1813, in Marredpalli, Secunderabad. It is the oldest Christian church in Secunderabad, Hyderabad. History The church was built for British troops of the Secunderabad cantonment. British troops were allowed to bring guns inside, after guns kept outside were stolen once during the 1857 War of Indian Independence. It was designated as a Heritage structure of Hyderabad in 1998. Lala Deen Dayal
Raja Lala Deen Dayal (; 1844–1905; also written as 'Din Dyal' and 'Diyal' in his early years), famously known as Raja Deen Dayal) was an Indian photographer. His career began in the mid-1870s as a commissioned photographer; eventually he set up studios in Indore, Mumbai and Hyderabad. He became the court photographer to the sixth Nizam of Hyderabad, Mahbub Ali Khan, Asif Jah VI, who awarded him the title Raja Bahadur Musavvir Jung Bahadur, and he was appointed as the photographer to the Viceroy of India in 1885. He received the Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria in 1897. Early life and education Deen Dayal was born in Sardhana, Uttar Pradesh, near Meerut in a family of jewellers. The Indian Rebellion of 1857 was a major uprising in India in 1857–58 against Company rule in India, the rule of the East India Company, British East India Company, which functioned as a sovereign power on behalf of the The Crown, British Crown.
