Southern Jutland Artillery Regiment
The Southern Jutland Artillery Regiment ( da, Sønderjyske Artilleriregiment) was an artillery regiment of the Royal Danish Army. The regiment was established on November 1, 1951 as 4 Field Artillery Regiment in Aarhus. The regiment is based on the 7th Artillery Battalion of North Jutland Artillery Regiment, 3 Field Artillery Regiment, and the regiment can thus trace its history back to 1842. On 23 October 1953 The regiment was transferred to the new build barracks in Varde Between 1953 and 2000 various units was transferred back and forward, between North Jutland Artillery Regiment, Nørrerjyske Artilleriregiment and Southern Jutland Artillery Regiment. Including North Jutland Artillery Regiment, 6th Artillery Battalion there first was in Varde from 1969 to 1974 and then again from 1987 to 1989. Artillery School
Artillery is a class of heavy military ranged weapons that launch munitions far beyond the range and power of infantry firearms. Jutland Division
The Jutland Division (''Jyske Divisionskommando'') was a mechanized infantry formation of the Danish Army during the Cold War. It was formed during 1951-1952 as 3rd Division from assets of the III Military Region and the division headquarters was initially located in Aabenraa. As initially formed, the division had only one active brigade (1st Brigade) and two reserve brigades (the 2nd and 3rd Brigades). The division changed its name to "Jutland Division" in 1961. In 1975, the division headquarters was moved to Fredericia and the 2nd and 3rd Brigades received full equipment sets. Army Combat And Fire Support Centre
The Army Combat and Fire Support Centre ( da, Hærens Kamp- og Ildstøttecenter), formerly Army Combat School ( da, Hærens Kampskole), was a training centre for the Royal Danish Army, with the purpose of developing, educating and training various forms of combat for infantry, armor, reconnaissance and fire support. History The centre could trace its history back to 1869, when the ''Shooting School'' was created, placed at Panterens Bastion in Christianshavn. In 1922 it changed name to ''Shooting School for Handguns''. Varde
Varde is a Danish city in southwestern Jutland and is the primary city in the municipality of Varde, in Region of Southern Denmark. In 2015 municipality changed its motto to "We in nature" to emphasize its rural atmosphere. The town has an old market environment and is located by Varde stream/river and is a short distance away from the beaches by the North Sea. These features make it a tourist destination.
