Sophie Giquel
Sophie Giquel-Bettan (born 12 July 1982) is a retired French professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour and the U.S-based LPGA Tour. She won the 2007 Ladies Open of Portugal. Personal life and amateur career Born Sophie Giquel in 1982 in Ploërmel, Brittany, she won the individual gold at the 2001 Mediterranean Games in Tunis and represented the Continent of Europe at the 2003 Vagliano Trophy held at County Louth Golf Club, Ireland. In 2003, she lost the final of the French International Lady Juniors Amateur Championship to María Hernández, 2 and 1. She married Axel Bettan, her caddie, in 2006 and changed her name to Giquel-Bettan. Her closest friends on tour were Marine Monnet, Linda Wessberg, Diana Luna and Patricia Meunier-Lebouc, who helped her settle on the LPGA Tour. Ploërmel
Church Saint-Armel Ploërmel (; ; Gallo language: ''Pieurmè'') is a commune in the Morbihan department in Brittany in north-western France. 2007 Ladies European Tour
The 2007 Ladies European Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world which took place from January through December 2007. The tournaments were sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). The tour featured 24 official money events with prize money totalling more than €10.5 million, as well as the Women's World Cup of Golf and the biannual Solheim Cup. Sophie Gustafson won the Order of Merit with earnings of €222,081.47, while Bettina Hauert was voted Player's Player of the Year. The Women's Open (originally known as the Women's British Open, and still widely referred to by that name outside the UK) is a women's major golf championships, major championship in Professional golf tours#Women's tours, women's professional golf. The Ladies Swiss Open is a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour that is held in Switzerland. It was first played in 1996 and 1997, the first LET event in Switzerland since the Ladies Swiss Classic (1988–1990). It was played 2006–2012 with Deutsche Bank as the title sponsor. The Ladies Finnish Masters was a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour held in Helsinki, Finland, between 2005 and 2011. In 2006 Finnair, the country's largest airline, became title sponsor and it changed name to the Finnair Masters. The Women's PGA Championship (branded as the KPMG Women's PGA Championship for sponsorship reasons) is a women's professional golf tournament. First held in 1955, it is one of five majors on the LPGA Tour.
