2007 Ladies European Tour
The 2007 Ladies European Tour was a series of weekly golf tournaments for elite female golfers from around the world which took place from January through December 2007. The tournaments were sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET). The tour featured 24 official money events with prize money totalling more than €10.5 million, as well as the Women's World Cup of Golf and the biannual Solheim Cup. Sophie Gustafson won the Order of Merit with earnings of €222,081.47, while Bettina Hauert was voted Player's Player of the Year. Louise Stahle won Rookie of the Year honours, finishing 23rd in the Order of Merit. Tournament results The table below shows the 2007 schedule. Sophie Gustafson
Sophie Gustafson (born 27 December 1973) is a Swedish professional golfer. She was a member of the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and is a life member of the Ladies European Tour (LET). She has five LPGA Tour and 23 international wins in her career, including victories on five of the six continents on which golf is played: North America, Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia. She is a four-time LET Order of Merit winner and represented Europe in the Solheim Cup on each team from 1998 to 2011. She won the Women's British Open in 2000, the year before it was recognized as a major championship by the LPGA Tour and finished runner-up in 2005 and 2006. Ladies Swiss Open
The Ladies Swiss Open is a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour that is held in Switzerland. It was first played in 1996 and 1997, the first LET event in Switzerland since the Ladies Swiss Classic (1988–1990). It was played 2006–2012 with Deutsche Bank as the title sponsor. After a 8 year hiatus it returned to the LET schedule again in 2020, this time with Liechtenstein-based VP Bank as title sponsor. Ladies English Open
The Ladies English Open was a women's professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour. It was first held between 1991 and 1996, when it was dominated by Laura Davies who won four of the five tournaments played. It was re-established in 2004 and held annually until 2008, during which time it was contested over three rounds, as opposed to four, and as such had one of the lowest prize funds on the tour. Sophie Giquel
Sophie Giquel-Bettan (born 12 July 1982) is a retired French professional golfer who played on the Ladies European Tour and the U.S-based LPGA Tour. She won the 2007 Ladies Open of Portugal. Personal life and amateur career Born Sophie Giquel in 1982 in Ploërmel, Brittany, she won the individual gold at the 2001 Mediterranean Games in Tunis and represented the Continent of Europe at the 2003 Vagliano Trophy held at County Louth Golf Club, Ireland. In 2003, she lost the final of the French International Lady Juniors Amateur Championship to María Hernández, 2 and 1. She married Axel Bettan, her caddie, in 2006 and changed her name to Giquel-Bettan. Linda Wessberg
Linda Maria Wessberg (born 13 June 1980) is a Swedish professional golfer who has played on the LPGA Tour and on the Ladies European Tour, where she has three victories. She represented Europe at the 2007 Solheim Cup. Early life and amateur career Wessberg was born in Gothenburg and as a junior was attached to Delsjö Golf Club, to later join Hills Golf Club. The Open de France Dames is a women's professional golf tournament in France on the Ladies European Tour. It has been played annually since 1987, with four exceptions: 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1998. Since the 2011 edition, Lacoste has been the title sponsor of the event. Ashleigh Ann Buhai (née Simon, born 11 May 1989) is a South African professional golfer, who won the 2022 Women's Open, one of the major championships in women's golf. Amateur career Buhai had a successful amateur career. She was the youngest player to win the ladies’ South African Amateur Stroke Play and Match Play double. Catalonia Ladies Masters
The Catalonia Ladies Masters was a professional golf tournament on the Ladies European Tour that was held in Spain. It was first held in 2004 and dropped from the tour in 2008. Karine Icher won the inaugural event on 17-under-par 190 with a score of 62-66-62 to break the existing record of 200 for a 54-hole LET event. In 2007, Ashleigh Simon, at 18 years and 37 days, became the youngest ever professional winner of a Ladies European Tour event as she won at (−8) with 70-68-70. Gwladys Nocera (born 22 May 1975) is a French professional golfer. She currently resides in Biarritz, France. Amateur career Nocera was born in Moulins, Allier. She had a successful amateur career. Lisa Ann Hall (born 24 September 1967), née Lisa Ann Hackney, is an English professional golfer who was previously a member of the LPGA Tour and currently plays on the Ladies European Tour. College career Hall accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, United States, where she played for coach Mimi Ryan's Florida Gators women's golf team from 1987 to 1990.
