Soncin was a French automobile constructed by Louis Soncin and manufactured between 1900 and 1902. A two-seat 4½ hp voiturette, it was the forerunner of the Grégoire. A Soncin raced by Henri François Béconnais set the 1 km speed record (48 seconds) on September 21, 1899 at Achères, and the speed record of driving a Soncin at the «Semaine de Nice» on March 30, 1900. It was a frequently used racing vehicle of the days, such as in the Paris-Toulouse-Paris in July 1900, and a tricycle raced by L. Targa Rignano
The Padova–Bovolenta race (1900–1908) was an automobile, voiturette and motorcycle race. The first day had a straight race speedrecord track between the cities of Padova and Bovolenta in Italy, followed by a race in Padova the next day. The name Targa Rignano was only used in the years 1902, 1903 and 1904, as ''conte'' Rignano was involved. Automobiles Grégoire was a French manufacturer of cars and aero engines, established in 1902, that operated for about 20 years in the early 20th century. The company grew from an earlier enterprise making engines under the name "Cyclone", established in 1899 by Louis Soncin, in Poissy, but was largely the creation of Pierre Joseph Grégoire (1876 - 1962). A voiturette is a miniature automobile. History ''Voiturette'' was first registered by Léon Bollée in 1895 to name his new motor tricycle. The term became so popular in the early years of the motor industry that it was used by many makers to describe their small cars. The word comes from the French word for "automobile", ''voiture''. Between World War I and World War II light-weight racing cars with engines limited to 1500 cc such as the Alfa Romeo 158/159 Alfetta, the Bugatti Type 13 and the original ERAs were known as voiturettes. In France, in the years after World War II a type of small three-wheeled vehicle voiturette was produced. Coppa Brescia
The Coppa Florio (or Florio Cup) was a motorsport race for automobiles first held in Italy in 1900. It was renamed in 1905 when Vincenzo Florio offered the initial 50,000 Lira prize money and a cup designed by Polak of Paris. The cup was to be awarded to the car maker who gained the most wins in the first seven races, beginning with the race held in 1905. In the event, the first seven races were all won by different manufacturers, but Peugeot won the eighth race in 1925 and thus secured the cup with its second win. However, the competition for the cup continued after Lucien Rosengart, then a director of Peugeot, offered to make it available again. The Brescia race ran along the route Brescia-Cremona-Mantua-Brescia.
