Lithuania participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The Lithuanian entry was selected through a national final, that consisted of heats, semi-finals and a final, organised by the Lithuanian broadcaster Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT). Andrius Pojavis represented Lithuania with the song "Something", which placed 22nd and scored 17 points in the final. Andrius Pojavis
Andrius Pojavis (born 25 November 1983) is a Lithuanian singer-songwriter. On 20 December 2012, he was selected to represent Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, which was held in Malmö, Sweden on 18 May 2013. Early career Pojavis began singing at a young age, and during high school he played in a band called "No Hero". After graduating from high school, Pojavis moved to Vilnius where he graduated History studies at Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences and played in a number of bands, including the "Hetero", who won the "EuroRock" competition in 2006. He later moved to Ireland, where he lived for one year, and began to write solo material. In 2012, Pojavis began to record his debut album in Massive Arts studio in Milan, Italy. The first single "Traukiniai" was later that year, ranking within the top twenty of the Lithuanian Singles Chart, and its music video was aired on national television. Samanta Tīna
Samanta Poļakova (; born 31 March 1989), better known as Samanta Tīna, is a Latvian singer, songwriter and composer. After having attempted to represent her country in the Eurovision Song Contest seven times earlier (in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2019), she won the national selection ''Supernova'' in 2020 and was to represent Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 that was to be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands with the song " Still Breathing". Lithuania has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest (known in Lithuania as ''Eurovizijos dainų konkursas'') 22 times since its debut in 1994, where Ovidijus Vyšniauskas finished last, receiving "nul points". The Lithuanian litas (ISO currency code LTL, symbolized as Lt; plural ''litai'' (nominative) or ''litų'' (genitive) was the currency of Lithuania, until 1 January 2015, when it was replaced by the euro. It was divided into 100 centų (genitive case; singular ''centas'', nominative plural ''centai''). The litas was first introduced on 2 October 1922 after World War I, when Lithuania declared independence and was reintroduced on 25 June 1993, following a period of currency exchange from the rouble to the litas with the temporary talonas then in place. Andrius Mamontovas
Andrius Mamontovas (born 23 August 1967) is a Lithuanian rock musician. He is also a songwriter, actor, performer and record producer. He was one of the co-founders of the Lithuanian rock band Foje and the initiator of the LT United project. Personal life His father was Russian and mother Lithuanian. Since 1993, he has been a vegetarian. Career In 1983, Andrius Mamontovas began his musical quest by forming Foje, one of the most popular bands in Lithuania. From 1983 until 1997 the band released 14 successful albums and won every possible music award along with the national acclaim. Among their many accomplishments, Foje toured European and American clubs, and at the last show held in Vilnius, with an audience of 60,000. LT United were a Lithuanian music group created in 2006 for the sole purpose of representing Lithuania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006. The group entered the Lithuanian pre-selection event with the song "We Are the Winners", winning with almost twice as many votes as the runners-up, and finished 6th in the Eurovision Song Contest final with 162 points. History LT United were created in early 2006 after the well-known Lithuanian rock musician Andrius Mamontovas decided it would be a good idea to enter the Eurovision Song Contest.
