Newcomers heats

Three newcomers heats were held on 14, 21 and 28 January 2006. The top 4 songs in each heat qualified for the quarter-final.


Quarter-final

The quarter-final was held on 4 February 2006, where the twelve qualifiers from the newcomers heats competed. The top 6 songs qualified for the semi-finals.


Semi-finals

Three semi-finals were held on 11, 18 and 25 February. The top 5 songs in semi-finals 1 and 2 and the top 4 songs in semi-final 3 were chosen by televoting qualified for the final. An expert jury also gave two of the losing songs wildcards into the final, which both came from the first semi-final.


Final

The final was held on 4 March 2006. The winner was chosen by televoting.


At Eurovision
