Soli Ropati
Soli Ropati (born 19 May 1997) is a Samoan netball player who plays as a wing defence. She has represented Samoa internationally as part of the Samoa national netball team. Ropati plays for City West Falcons in the Victorian Netball League. In 2017 she was captain of the Samoa under-21 netball team for the 2017 International Youth Netball Series, and then vice-captain for the 2017 Netball World Youth Cup in Gaborone, Botswana. In November 2017 she was selected for the Samoa national netball team for its tour of Scotland. Netball
Netball is a ball sport played on a court by two teams of seven players. It is among a rare number of sports which have been created exclusively for female competitors. The sport is played on indoor and outdoor netball courts and is specifically played in schools. Netball is most popularly played in Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth nations. A common misunderstanding of the sport's origins has resulted in the mistaken belief that netball was created to prevent women from playing basketball. Samoa National Netball Team
The Samoa national netball team or ''Tifa Moana'' represent Samoa in international netball tests and competitions. The team are coached by Marcia Hardcastle and are co-captained by Opheira Harder-Karatau and Julianna Naoupu. As of 21 July 2019, Samoa are 16th in the INF World Rankings. History They finished 12th at the 2011 World Netball Championships in Singapore, and 9th at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Victorian Netball League
The Victorian Netball League is a state netball league featuring teams from Victoria, Australia. The league is organised by Netball Victoria. The modern league was first played for during the 2009 season. It replaced an earlier state league as the top level netball competition in Victoria. On a national level, the VNL is effectively a third level league, below Suncorp Super Netball and the Australian Netball League. Between 2009 and 2011, due to sponsorship and naming rights arrangements, the VNL was also known as the Holden Cruze Cup. Since 2018, the league has been sponsored by Bupa and, as a result, it is also known as the Bupa Victorian Netball League. 2017 Netball World Youth Cup
The Netball World Youth Cup Gaborone 2017 was the eighth staging of the tournament previously (until 2013) known as the World Youth Netball Championships, the premier competition in international netball, contested every four years. The 2019 Netball World Cup (also known as the 2019 Vitality Netball World Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 15th edition of the INF Netball World Cup. It was held from 12–21 July 2019 at the Liverpool Arena in Liverpool, England with matches being held on two courts. Host nation England finished their campaign with a bronze medal. New Zealand became 5th time champions after beating Australia in the final and gold medal match. Sixteen nations contested for the title, which included the top six of the previous tournament which was held in Sydney, Australia. After two group stage rounds, Australia, England, New Zealand and South Africa all made it to the semi-finals. The Oceania Netball World Cup Qualifiers was held on July 19-23, 2022. The event was hosted by Fiji and took place in Suva where the hosts welcomed Tonga, Samoa, Papua New Guinea, and the Cook Islands.
