Slipping Stitches
Slipping Stitches was a hard rock/pop rock band from Helsinki, Finland. History Slipping Stitches was founded in 2003. Under their previous name Peace of Mind, they recorded their first single ''No Privacy''. It was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios in Helsinki, Finland in 2001. Michael Monroe of Hanoi Rocks fame produced the first two tracks, and contributed with both lyrics and background vocals. They changed their name to Slipping Stitches in the spring of 2003. In May 2004 they released their first album entitled ''Melody Cruise'' on GLAM productions. In 2005 vocalist Markus Lindqvist (aka Cashmire) announced that a major line-up change had happened, leaving himself as the only original member. The band toured in Finland and Italy with the new lineup during the years 2005–07. They also released a self-titled EP in 2007 to support the second Italian tour. Hanoi Rocks
Hanoi Rocks was a Finnish rock band formed in 1979. They were the first Finnish band to chart in the UK and they were also popular in Japan. The band broke up in June 1985 after drummer Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley died in a drunk driving accident with Vince Neil behind the wheel during their first US tour in December 1984. After their initial break-up, Michael Monroe was the first Finnish artist to chart on the American Billboard 200 in 1989. Original vocalist Michael Monroe and guitarist Andy McCoy reunited in 2001 with a new lineup that lasted until 2009. Although musically closer to traditional rock n' roll and punk, the band have been cited as a major influence in the glam metal genre for bands such as Guns N' Roses, Skid Row and Poison. The music of Finland can be roughly divided into categories of folk music, classical and contemporary art music, and contemporary popular music. The folk music of Finland belongs to a broader musical tradition, that has been common amongst Balto-Finnic people, sung in the so-called ''Kalevala'' metre. Though folk songs of the old variety became progressively rarer in western Finland, they remained common in eastern parts of the country, mainly Karelia. Sunrise Avenue was a Finnish rock band originally formed in 2002 in Helsinki, Finland. In the early days, the band was called Sunrise and the name was changed to Sunrise Avenue in 2003. Their style varies from rock and pop-rock to rock ballads. Jukka Backlund
Jukka Henri Kristian Backlund (born 30 December 1982, Helsinki) is a Finnish music producer and multi-instrumentalist. Backlund was previously a member of the Finnish rock band Sunrise Avenue, where he played keyboards. He is best known for producing their first album, '' On the Way to Wonderland'', which is the best-selling international debut from Finland. Many of the songs on the album were co-written by Backlund and the lead singer Samu Haber, including the singles " Fairytale Gone Bad" and " Forever Yours". Hard Rock
Hard rock or heavy rock is a loosely defined subgenre of rock music typified by aggressive vocals and distorted electric guitars. Hard rock began in the mid-1960s with the garage, psychedelic and blues rock movements. Matti Antero Kristian Fagerholm (born 17 June 1962), better known by his stage name Michael Monroe, is a Finnish rock musician who rose to fame as the vocalist for the glam punk band Hanoi Rocks, and has served as the frontman for all-star side projects, such as Demolition 23 and Jerusalem Slim (with Steve Stevens). Early life Michael Monroe was born Matti "Makke" Fagerholm on 17 June 1962. His father, Pentti Fagerholm (1935–2015), was a very well known Finnish radio personality and reporter.
