Skipton Football Club
The Skipton Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Emus'', are an Australian rules football and netball club based in the town of Skipton, Victoria, currently playing in the Central Highlands Football League. History The Skipton Football Club's earliest recorded match dates back to 1873-1874 against Streatham on a field east of the Emus' current Skipton Recreation Reserve and played against teams from the towns of Carngham, Haddon and Linton. A few years later, the recreation reserve was fenced with grass planted and games were played against more districts such as Camperdown and Lismore, with Ballarat official umpires officiating the matches. Skipton had a very strong team during this era and is believed that they had the best record of any Australian rules football club in Australia, playing for fifteen years without losing a game and for eighteen years without losing a home game. Scarsdale, Victoria
Scarsdale is a small town in rural Victoria, Australia, and approximately 25 km south west of Ballarat. It is situated in the north-western part of Golden Plains Shire, on the bank of the Woady Yaloak River and is primarily an agricultural community. Scarsdale township includes a few community facilities including a primary school, a kindergarten, a general store, Town Hall, Post Office, the Scarsdale Community Park and The Scarsdale Hotel. Graeme Wise
Graham Wise (born 13 October 1942) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1960s. Wise was a ruckman and joined Melbourne for the 1963 season. He played in their 1964 premiership side and finished his career with 40 senior games. Dean Chiron
Dean Chiron (born 27 March 1961) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda, Footscray and Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1980s. Chiron spent his early career up forward or in the centre and kicked 12 goals in his debut season. The Beaufort recruit kicked a career best six goals in a game against Sydney at Moorabbin Oval the following year. He then crossed to Footscray but could only manage one appearance in the seniors, against his next club Melbourne. Transformed during his time at Melbourne to a tagger, Chiron took part in their 1987 finals campaign but was suspended from the Semi Final. The Bungaree Football & Netball Club is an Australian rules football and netball club from Bungaree, Victoria which competes in the Central Highlands Football League. The Demons are one of the founding members of the CHFL and most widely recognised through their best export, former St Kilda captain, Victorian representative and media personality Danny Frawley. The Demons play their home games at the Bungaree Recreation Reserve which underwent a full redevelopment in 2012, with the changeroom facility being named the Danny Frawley Pavilion. Bungaree emerged from a lean decade in the 2000s to play four preliminary finals in a row from 2012–15, culminating in their first premiership in 23 years in 2014 with a 9-goal thrashing of arch rivals Springbank. The Lexton Plains Football League was an Australian rules football competition in western Victoria, Australia. The league ran an annual competition from 1999 to 2010. History The Western Plains FL was formed in 1930 and the Lexton FL was formed in 1945. In 1999, The Lexton Football League and the Western Plains Football League merged to form the Lexton Plains FL. Derrinallum is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on the Hamilton Highway, in the Corangamite Shire. The town is the centre for the surrounding farming community and lies at the foot of Mount Elephant. Mount Elephant is a 380 m-high conical breached scoria cone formed by an dormant volcano. Smythesdale Football Club
Smythesdale is a town in Victoria, Australia. The town is located on the Glenelg Highway. Most of the town is located in the Golden Plains Shire local government area; however, a small section lies in the Shire of Pyrenees. Smythesdale is west of Ballarat and west of the state capital, Melbourne. At the , Smythesdale and the surrounding area had a population of 1,032. Smythesdale Primary School is a part of the Woady Yaloak PS with Ross Creek, Scarsdale, and Snake Valley as the other campus'. The town was established during the Victorian Gold Rush, and the Post Office opened on 14 July 1854. The town was known as Smythe's Creek until 1864.
