Bungaree FC
The Bungaree Football & Netball Club is an Australian rules football and netball club from Bungaree, Victoria which competes in the Central Highlands Football League. The Demons are one of the founding members of the CHFL and most widely recognised through their best export, former St Kilda captain, Victorian representative and media personality Danny Frawley. The Demons play their home games at the Bungaree Recreation Reserve which underwent a full redevelopment in 2012, with the changeroom facility being named the Danny Frawley Pavilion. Bungaree emerged from a lean decade in the 2000s to play four preliminary finals in a row from 2012–15, culminating in their first premiership in 23 years in 2014 with a 9-goal thrashing of arch rivals Springbank. The Reserves were also able to break their 34-year drought with a comprehensive win over Waubra FC. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). Netball is a ball sport played on a court by two teams of seven players. It is among a rare number of sports which have been created exclusively for female competitors. Danny Frawley
Daniel Patrick Frawley (8 September 1963 – 9 September 2019) was an Australian rules football player, coach, administrator, commentator and media personality. He played 240 games for the St Kilda Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL)/Australian Football League (AFL) from 1984 to 1995, captaining the club for nine seasons, and won All-Australian selection and the St Kilda best and fairest award in 1988. Frawley coached the Richmond Football Club from 2000 to 2004, with his most successful season coming in 2001, when he coached Richmond to a preliminary final. He later served as chief executive officer of the AFL Coaches Association from 2008 to 2014, and had part-time roles with the Hawthorn Football Club and St Kilda. Maurice Frawley
Maurice Gerard Frawley (5 May 1954 – 16 May 2009) was an Australian rock and country blues singer-songwriter and guitarist. Biography Maurice Gerard Frawley was born on 5 May 1954, the son of Gerard Patrick and Eileen Marie Frawley, he grew up with three siblings, Brendan, Mary and Leo, on the family farm near Elmore, Victoria. He attended Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School (a Catholic primary school) in Elmore, Rochester Lourdes High School in nearby Rochester and then Salesian College in Sunbury (an outer suburb of Melbourne), where he completed an agricultural studies course. After working in wool sheds in rural Victoria, he moved to Melbourne in the late 1970s to pursue a musical career. Danny Guinane
Danny Guinane (18 May 1911 – 28 August 1992) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Richmond in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Guinane, a defender, came to Richmond from South Ballarat. He polled eight Brownlow Medal votes in 1939, the second most by a Richmond player behind Jack Dyer. Maurice O'Keefe
Maurice O'Keefe (born 22 January 1954) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda and Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL). O'Keefe was from Bungaree near Ballarat and started his St Kilda career in 1977. A wingman, he had his best season in 1978 when he averaged 17 disposals from his 21 games, the third most at the club. He also kicked 29 goals that year. After not being able to meet a new requirement that St Kilda players had to be based in Melbourne, O'Keefe got a clearance to Geelong. He played for them in the opening round of the 1980 VFL season but didn't appear again.
