Sivasakthi (TV Series)
Sivasakthi ( ta, சிவசக்தி) is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language soap opera starring Shamitha, Renuka, Sabitha Anand, Viswanath, Shreekumar, Sanjeev, Saakshi Siva, and Poovilangu Mohan. It replaced Lakshmi and it was broadcast on Sun TV on Monday to Friday from 16 June 2008 to 18 December 2009 at 22:00 (IST) for 385 episodes. It was produced by Home Media Sujatha Vijakumar, director by Balaji Yadav. Shamitha, who plays the lead role, made her Tamil-language debut with the series. Co-actors Shreekumar and Shamitha were revealed to be married. Shamitha Shreekumar
Shamitha Shreekumar (born 1980) ( ta, ஷமிதா ஸ்ரீகுமார்) is an Indian actress who predominantly works in South Indian Tamil television soap operas. Her only film appearance in the 2001 film ''Pandavar Bhoomi'' received critical performance for her acting alongside Ranjith before she gained more popularity as a serial actress in Tamil Nadu. She received praise from the audience for her positive roles in TV dramas ''Sivasakthi and'' ''Ponnunjal'' and also for her negative role in Vijay TV serial, ''Mouna Ragam''. Career Originally born as Bhavani, Shamitha first became acquainted with director Cheran when attending the premiers show of his ''Porkkaalam'' (1997), in which Shamitha's sister Rajeswari had played a pivotal role. Tamil Nadu State Film Awards
Tamil Nadu State Film Awards were given for excellence in Tamil cinema in India. They were given annually to honour the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the South Indian film industry by the Government of Tamil Nadu. The awards were decided by a committee headed by a Judge. The awards were first given in 1967 and discontinued after 1970. The awards were given again in 1977 and continued till 1982. The awards were not given in the years 1971 to 1976.
