Seinäjoen JymyJussit
Seinäjoen JymyJussit (Finnish for "Jymy and Jussit from Seinäjoki", sometimes referred to as Seinäjoki) is a Finnish professional pesäpallo team based in Seinäjoki and playing in the top-tier Superpesis, Finnish Superpesis. Seinäjoen JymyJussit has participated in Superpesis since 2012. The club is owned by two traditional pesäpalloteams from Seinäjoki; Nurmon Jymy and Seinäjoen Maila-Jussit. The name "JymyJussit" is the combination of these two owner clubs. Seinäjoen JymyJussit's home ground is the Seinäjoki Pesäpallo Stadium. The seating capacity of the ballpark is 4,500. Seinäjoki
Seinäjoki (; "Wall River"; la, Wegelia, formerly sv, Östermyra) is a city located in South Ostrobothnia, Finland; east of Vaasa, north of Tampere, west of Jyväskylä and southwest of Oulu. Seinäjoki originated around the Östermyra bruk iron and gunpowder factories founded in 1798. Seinäjoki became a municipality in 1868, market town in 1931 and town in 1960. Seinäjoki Pesäpallo Stadium is a pesäpallo stadium located in Seinäjoki, Finland. Since its opening in 1992, it has been the home field of the Seinäjoen Maila-Jussit, a Superpesis team. Superpesis
The Superpesis, known as SM-sarja from 1955 to 1989, is the top professional pesäpallo league in Finland. It was created in 1990 to replace the SM-sarja which was fundamentally an amateur league. The Superpesis is directly overseen by the Finnish Pesäpallo Association. Both the men's and women's top division is called Superpesis. Comprising 13 teams in the men's league and 12 teams in the women's league, one team faces relegation to Ykköspesis at the end of the season. Superpesis was founded in 1990; before that the top division was called ''SM-sarja'' (Finnish Championship). Nurmon Jymy is a Finnish sports club with several departments, located in Nurmo. History The club was founded in 5.5.1925. Today the most popular departments are pesäpallo, floorball, and volleyball. Other departments are cross-country skiing, ski jumping, gymnastics, and wrestling. Before wrestling were the most popular department with many Olympic winners. Seinäjoen Maila-Jussit is a professional Finnish pesäpallo team from Seinäjoki. It was founded in 1932. Seinäjoen Maila-Jussit is playing in the top-tier women's Superpesis. Seinäjoen Maila-Jussit has won the men's Finnish Pesäpallo Championship (Superpesis) four times in years 1975, 1983, 1985 and 1987 and the women's Championship in 1977.
