Scuba Dice
Scuba Dice were an Irish pop punk and punk rock band who gained national attention after participating in the 2007 series of the singing contest You're A Star. History Formation (2003–2007) The band formed in 2003 and gained a following in Ireland for their live shows and original material. After entering the 2006 Hype Entertainment Battle of the Bands and winning, the band released a self-titled EP, then opened for The Frank and Walters at a gig at the Olympia Theatre, featuring Des Foley of Mr Lightweight as an additional guitarist. In early 2007 Scuba Dice made their television debut as contestants in the national TV show ''You're a Star'', with Brendan O'Connor defining their sound as "power pop, punk, punk pop". The band competed for the coveted prize of a record contract and as part of the show they covered Green Day's "Holiday", which was released as a single and reached No. 8 and on the Irish Singles Chart, later becoming the 42nd best selling single of 2008 for a ... County Kilkenny ( gle, Contae Chill Chainnigh) is a county in Ireland. It is in the province of Leinster and is part of the South-East Region. It is named after the city of Kilkenny. One Night Only (band)
One Night Only are a British indie rock band from Helmsley, North Yorkshire, formed in 2003. History One Night Only were formed in summer 2003, consisting initially of Mark Hayton, Daniel "Pob" Parkin, Sam "Gunner" Ford and Kai Smith. The band did not have a vocalist until George Craig, a friend of Ford's brother, joined in a practice. He was asked to be the vocalist, but insisted on playing guitar as well. Smith then left the band. Contrary to some reports, they did not start out as a Beatles cover band — they initially played songs by bands such as Blink-182, New Found Glory and The Beatles, as well as some of their own material. The name, One Night Only, came about when they were asked to play a gig. They did not have a name at the time and so came up with ''One Night Only'', intending the title to, literally, last for only one night, but the name stuck. Canterbury were an English rock band, formed in Basingstoke, Hampshire, in 2005. The band consisted of guitarist and vocalist Mike Sparks, bassist and vocalist Luke Prebble, guitarist James Pipe and drummer Chris Velissarides. My Passion were an English band formed in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England in 2005. They released their debut album, ''Corporate Flesh Party'', in May 2009 on Cool Green Recordings. Antrim ( ga, Aontroim , meaning 'lone ridge') is a town and civil parish in County Antrim in the northeast of Northern Ireland, on the banks of the Six Mile Water, on the northeast shore of Lough Neagh. Louth () is a village at the heart of County Louth, Ireland. It is roughly 11 km south-west of the town of Dundalk, 10.9 km to neighbouring town Ardee.
