My Passion
My Passion were an English band formed in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England in 2005. They released their debut album, ''Corporate Flesh Party'', in May 2009 on Cool Green Recordings. Produced by John Mitchell at Outhouse Studios in Reading,My Passion on Outhouse Studios' Clients' Section Retrieved 1 June 2010 the album features eleven tracks, six of which are re-released versions of older demos either presented only on the band's Myspace, or released on their Style Suicide record label. Hitchin () is a market town and unparished area in the North Hertfordshire Districts of England, district in Hertfordshire, England, with an estimated population of 35,842. ''Kerrang!'' is a British weekly magazine devoted to rock, punk and heavy metal music, currently published by Wasted Talent (the same company that owns electronic music publication ''Mixmag''). Cort Guitars (Cor-Tek Corporation) is a South Korean guitar manufacturing company located in Seoul. The company is one of the largest guitar makers in the world, and produces instruments for many other companies. It also has factories in Indonesia and China. Products manufactured by Cort include electric, acoustic and classical guitars, basses, and ukuleles. History Cort was founded in 1960 as an importer of pianos by current CEO Young Park's father. Fort Hope are a British rock band formed in 2013 after the disbandment of electronic rock band My Passion in 2012. The band has released three EPs and released their debut mini-album in May 2014, which peaked at 8 on the UK top Rock and Metal albums. History Formation and EP releases (2013–2014) The band consists of four former members of the electronic rock band My Passion, the line-up consisting of Jon Gaskin, Simon Rowlands and Jamie Nicholls, who all agreed to stay together and form a new band while Laurence Rene, the former singer of My Passion, did not. Asleep In The Asylum
''Inside This Machine'' is the second studio album from My Passion. The album was recorded in April 2010 at Outhouse Studios in Reading, England and was released on 18 April 2011. The band released the track "Seven Birds" as a free download from their website in July 2010. "Asleep in the Asylum" was the first single, released on 2 November 2010. There was a limited CD single released which featured downloadable track "Seven Birds", which also featured on the album, and an exclusive new track titled "Dream in Colour". On 23 February 2011, the release date for the album was announced in ''Kerrang!'' and on the band's Facebook site. The album was made available for pre-order on iTunes on 14 March 2011, along with a bonus track and downloadable album artwork. Dead by April is a Swedish metalcore band from Gothenburg, formed in February 2007 by Pontus Hjelm and Jimmie Strimell. All Time Low is an American rock band from Towson, Maryland, formed in 2003. Gothic Rock
Gothic rock (also called goth rock or simply goth) is a style of rock music that emerged from post-punk in the United Kingdom in the late 1970s. The first post-punk bands which shifted toward dark music with gothic overtones include Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, Bauhaus, and the Cure. The genre itself was defined as a separate movement from post-punk. Gothic rock stood out due to its darker sound, with the use of primarily minor or bass chords, reverb, dark arrangements, or dramatic and melancholic melodies, having inspirations in gothic literature allied with themes such as sadness, nihilism, dark romanticism, tragedy, melancholy and morbidity. These themes are often approached poetically. The sensibilities of the genre led the lyrics to represent the evil of the century and the romantic idealization of death and the supernatural imagination.
