Canterbury (band)
Canterbury were an English rock band, formed in Basingstoke, Hampshire, in 2005. The band consisted of guitarist and vocalist Mike Sparks, bassist and vocalist Luke Prebble, guitarist James Pipe and drummer Chris Velissarides. History Formation (2005–2008) Canterbury was founded in 2005, by Ben Bishop, James Pipe and Luke Prebble, who all attended the same college (Lord Wandsworth College in Hook, Hampshire). They were later joined by Mike Sparks after he left his previous band. The line up was completed by fellow Music Tech classmate Scott Peters in early 2007. They spent their remaining few years of education writing songs for what would eventually become their first album four years later in 2009. Basingstoke
Basingstoke ( ) is the largest town in the county of Hampshire. It is situated in south-central England and lies across a valley at the source of the River Loddon, at the far western edge of The North Downs. It is located north-east of Southampton, south-west of London, 27 miles (43 km) west of Guildford, south of Reading and north-east of the county town and former capital Winchester. Mallory Knox
Mallory Knox were an English alternative rock band from Cambridge. In 2013, they released their debut album ''Signals'' which reached #33 in the UK album charts. Their second album '' Asymmetry'' was released on 27 October 2014 and reached #16 on UK Album Chart. They later released their third album ''Wired'' on 10 March 2017. Their fourth record, ''Mallory Knox'', was released on 16 August 2019, after which they announced a farewell tour. Deaf Havana
Deaf Havana are an English alternative rock band from Hunstanton and King's Lynn, Norfolk, England. The band was formed in 2005 at the King's Lynn campus of The College of West Anglia. Biography Early days (2005–2008) Deaf Havana was formed when the original members met at the King's Lynn campus of The College of West Anglia. The band's roots can, however, be traced back much further with Ryan Mellor, James Veck-Gilodi and Lee Wilson all attending Smithdon High School and playing together in various local scene bands. At college, these members were joined by Tom Ogden and Sebastian Spitz. This early lineup saw Veck-Gilodi singing and Mellor taking guitar and vocal duties. The name "Deaf Havana" came from former guitarist Sebastian Spitz, however the name itself has no literal meaning. Peter Miles (record Producer)
Peter Miles is a British record producer based in Devon, England. Career Although Peter Miles has worked in a variety of genres (indie, folk, pop and hip-hop) he is most recognised as a rock producer. Bands Peter has worked with include Sweet Billy Pilgrim, The King Blues, The Skints, We Are The Ocean, Futures, Dry The River, Canterbury, Francesqa, The Cape Race and Tellison. Miles's musical background began touring with and in bands for several years in his teens notably playing with Martin Grech. During this time he discovered a talent for production and song arrangement, he began recording some of his favourite punk bands wherever possible (studios ranging from bedrooms to rehearsal rooms and the occasional pro studio too). Barfly (club)
The Barfly was a chain of live music venues in the United Kingdom originally started by Nick Moore, Jeremy Ledlin and Be Rozzo on Valentine's Day 1997. Club nights and events tended to feature rock, alternative and independent music. The flagship venue was based in Camden Town, London, England. The premises are still used as a live music venue, which has a capacity of 200. Camden venue Prior to 2000, the flagship Camden venue had been known as The Monarch, a pub which had hosted live music gigs since the 1980s. During the 1990s it became a regular venue for Britpop bands. The venue was featured in Episode 5 of Season 2 of TV series ''Spaced'' which centred around lead characters Tim and Daisy having a night out in Camden.
