Screen Stockport Film Festival
The Screen Stockport Film Festival was a film festival held annually at the Stockport Plaza, Stockport, England, in which short and feature films made locally nationally and internationally are entered. It is considered the main film festival for North West England. It was founded in 2011. They are six categories of films and several awards for roles in films as well as the type of film. Every year the festival has special guests. Stockport
Stockport is a town and borough in Greater Manchester, England, south-east of Manchester, south-west of Ashton-under-Lyne and north of Macclesfield. The River Goyt and Tame merge to create the River Mersey here. The Plaza Super Cinema and Variety Theatre cinema in Stockport, England () opened in 1932 and is now a Grade II* listed building. After being a bingo hall for many years, it has now been restored as a cinema and theatre, showing classic films and staging live shows. Building The building is in the Art Deco style, it was constructed in 1932 to a design by William Thornley. It opened as a cine-variety venue. Phil Hawkins (born December 26, 1984) is a commercial, television and independent film director from Manchester, United Kingdom. His work in feature film includes ''The Women Of Troy'' (2006) and Philip Pullman's '' The Butterfly Tattoo'' (2008). Carol Anne Morley (born 14 January 1966) is an English film director, screenwriter and producer. She is best known for her semi-documentary ''Dreams of a Life'', released in 2011, about Joyce Carol Vincent, who died in her North London bedsit in 2003, but was not discovered until 2006.
