Jianchang
Jianchang () is a county of Huludao City in the southwest of Liaoning province, China. It is the largest division of Huludao, with an area of , and population of 600,000, located in mountainous terrain west of that city, serviced by China National Highway 306. The Weizhangzi–Tashan railway also passes through the County. Near the border with Hebei province lies the Jianchang Longtan Grand Canyon, home to wide variety of plants and animals. In 2009 a Troodontid dinosaur fossil with feathers was discovered in Jianchang. It is the earliest known such fossil and provides evidence for the link between dinosaurs and birds. Also found here, in Jiufotang Formation rocks, was the early modern bird '' Schizooura''. Euornithes (from Greek ' meaning "true birds") is a natural group which includes the most recent common ancestor of all avialans closer to modern birds than to ''Sinornis''. Description Clarke ''et al''. (2006) found that the most primitive known euornithians (the Yanornithiformes) had a mosaic of advanced and primitive features. These species retained primitive features like gastralia and a pubic symphysis. They also showed the first fully modern pygostyles, and the type specimen of ''Yixianornis'' (IVPP 13631) preserves eight elongated rectrices (tail feathers) in a modern arrangement. The Early Cretaceous ( geochronological name) or the Lower Cretaceous (chronostratigraphic name), is the earlier or lower of the two major divisions of the Cretaceous. Liaoning
Liaoning () is a coastal province in Northeast China that is the smallest, southernmost, and most populous province in the region.
