Sanxia History Museum
The Sanxia History Museum () is a museum of local history in Sanxia District, New Taipei, Taiwan. History The museum building was originally built as the township office during the Japanese rule in 1929. The reconstruction process to make the museum from the former building started in 1999 for 4 years. Architecture The museum is a two-story building. The first floor has an exhibition area that periodically hosts art activities. The second floor has an exhibition area of Sanxia historical items, old time implements and memorabilia. Transportation The museum is accessible southeast from Yingge Station of Taiwan Railways. Sanxia District
Sanxia District () is a District (Taiwan), district in the southwestern part of New Taipei, Taiwan. It is the second largest district in New Taipei City by area after Wulai District. Name The old name of Sanxia, ''Sa-kak-eng'' () refers to the meeting of the Dahan River, Sanxia River, and . In 1920, Taiwan under Japanese rule, Taiwan's Japanese government administratively designated the town as , Kaizan District, Taihoku Prefecture. Taiwan Under Japanese Rule
The island of Taiwan, together with the Penghu Islands, became a dependency of Japan in 1895, when the Qing dynasty ceded Fujian-Taiwan Province in the Treaty of Shimonoseki after the Japanese victory in the First Sino-Japanese War. The short-lived Republic of Formosa resistance movement was suppressed by Japanese troops and quickly defeated in the Capitulation of Tainan, ending organized resistance to Japanese occupation and inaugurating five decades of Japanese rule over Taiwan. Yingge Railway Station
Yingge () is a railway station in Yingge District, New Taipei, Taiwan served by Taiwan Railways. Overview The station has two island platforms and the main station building is located over the tracks. The station accepts EasyCard or TWSC for payment for travel from Ruifang to (29 stations). The station is expected to be a transfer station with the New Taipei Metro's Sanying line in 2023. This will also be the only station on Sanying line that can transfer to Taiwan Railways.
