San Bernardino High School
San Bernardino High School (SBHS) is an American public high school and city located at 1850 North E Street within San Bernardino, California and a member of the San Bernardino City Unified School District. SBHS was granted charter as a city in 1963, under the name Cardinal City after the school's mascot, the Cardinal. SBHS is the oldest high school in the City of San Bernardino. History San Bernardino High School was officially established when residents of the San Bernardino, California approved a $60,000 bond for construction of a high school in 1891. Construction of a three story-building at the southwest corner of Eighth and E Streets was completed in 1892 and received state accreditation in 1893 as San Bernardino Polytechnic High School. Tom Bass (American Football)
Tom Bass ( August 2, 1935 - July 27, 2019) was an American football coach who spent 30 years as an assistant with the Cincinnati Bengals, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and San Diego Chargers. He played at San Jose State University as a lineman until a bout of polio left him unable to play football. He then served as an undergraduate coach, and upon graduation, as the only full-time assistant under Don Coryell. He later worked on the Chargers staff with Sid Gillman, coaching QB's with John Hadl, he was the first Coach hired by Coach Paul Brown on the inaugural Bengals staff, and the Buccaneers staff under John McKay. Wilmer Amina Carter (born July 19, 1941) is an American politician who served in the California State Assembly. She is a Democrat. Pre-legislative career and personal Wilmer Amina Carter comes from a large, extended family and spent her childhood years on a farm in Mississippi before moving to San Bernardino. Carter served 16 years on the Rialto Board of Education from 1983 through 1999. For 23 years from 1973 until 1996, she was a staff member for Congressman George Brown, Jr. One of her jobs was District director. Charles Jeremy Lewis (October 21, 1934 – July 15, 2021) was an American politician who was a U.S. representative, last serving . He was first elected to Congress in 1978, and previously represented the 40th, 35th, and 37th districts. A Republican, he was chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, serving in that role during the 109th Congress. Patricia Carpenter (January 21, 1923 – July 8, 2000), a music theorist, was a professor of music theory at Barnard College and Columbia University. Her areas of scholarly interest included music theory, the history of music theory, musical analysis, and the aesthetics of music. She was born in Santa Rosa, California. Hoyt Stoddard Curtin (September 9, 1922 – December 3, 2000) was an American composer and music producer, the primary musical director for the Hanna-Barbera animation studio from its beginnings with '' The Ruff & Reddy Show'' in 1957 until his retirement in 1986, except from 1965 to 1972, when the primary music director was Ted Nichols.
