Salibandyliiga
The F-liiga is the top men’s floorball league in Finland. The league was founded as Salibandyn SM-sarja (English: Floorball Finnish Champions-Series) in 1986 by the Finnish Floorball Federation (SSBL). It was renamed to Salibandyliiga for the 1994–95 season. The ''Salibandyliiga'' was operated by the company ''SSBL Salibandy Oy'', a subsidiary of the Finnish Floorball Federation. The current name F-liiga is used since season 2020–21. The champion of the league is eligible to compete at the Champions Cup. Format Regular season The regular season is played in a round robin format with each team playing 26 games. The total number of regular season games is 182. The eight teams that finish the regular season at the top of the standings qualify for the playoffs in the spring. SSV Helsinki
SSV Helsinki is a floorball team based in Helsinki, Finland. The team was founded in 1986 and they currently play in Salibandyliiga, the top floorball league in Finland. History SSV Helsinki was founded in 1986 and was originally named Salibandy Sulkapallo Vuosaari. They got their current name in 2000 after merging with another local team Vuosaaren Viikingit. SSV played their first official game in the 1987–88 season of the I Divisioona (English: ''Men's First Division''). They were promoted to Salibandyliiga for the 1988–89 season and snatched their first title in the 1992–93 season. SSV played in the very first EuroFloorball Cup in 1993 and made their way to the finals where they lost to Balrog IK (9-2). The team finally grabbed their first EuroFloorball Cup in 2009 after having lost all their 4 previous appearances in the finals. Finnish Floorball Federation
Founded in 1985, the Finnish Floorball Federation (SSBL) ( fi, Suomen Salibandyliitto, sv, Finlands Innebandyförbund) is the governing body for floorball in the country of Finland. The SSBL's number of professional licensed players is 39,104 (in May 2006), making it the nation's third most popular sport, after association football and ice hockey. The SSBL organizes the Salibandyliiga and Finnish Floorball Cup competitions. Alongside the top National Floorball League, there is another league where over 1800 teams compete in 10 divisions (6 male, 4 female). Floorball is a type of floor hockey with five players and a goalkeeper in each team. Men and women play indoors with sticks and a plastic ball with holes. Matches are played in three twenty-minute periods. The sport of bandy also played a role in the game's development. The game was invented in Sweden in the late 1960s. The basic rules were established in 1979 when the first floorball club in the world, Sala IBK, from Sala, was founded in Sweden. Official rules for matches were first written down in 1981. Seinäjoki
Seinäjoki (; "Wall River"; la, Wegelia, formerly sv, Östermyra) is a city located in South Ostrobothnia, Finland; east of Vaasa, north of Tampere, west of Jyväskylä and southwest of Oulu.
