Saaxdheer
Sahdheer ( so, Saaxdheer) is a town in southern Sool region of Somaliland/Somalia. Overview Saaxdheer is on the border with Ethiopia. The town lies in the Sahader Valley, due south of Las Anod. Sahdheer lies a few miles northwest of Gumburka Cagaare, the site of the greatest Darwiish victory over a joint Abyssinian-British force. Balli Ad
Balli Ad (Balli Cad, Balicaad, Balicad) is a town in Buhoodle District of Togdheer region in Somaliland. Balli Ad is a place name found throughout Somalis residential area. History In August 2015, Khatumo State President Ali Khalif Galaydh moved his base from Sahdheer to Balli Ad after being pursued by Somaliland forces. In September, Khatumo State held a council meeting in Balli Ad, but some of the traditional elders in Sool refused to attend. In January 2016, Somaliland forces occupied Balli Ad from Khatumo State. The Somaliland government said, "The Somalia government incited violence in this region, which is Somaliland territory. The deployment of troops is to bring peace and stability to the region." The regions of Somaliland ( so, Gobolada Somaliland; ar, محافظات صوماليلاند) is divided into six administrative regions, Awdal, Sahil, Maroodi-Jeeh, Togdheer, Sanaag and Sool. Ali Khalif Galaydh
Ali Khalif Galaydh ( so, Cali Khalif Galaydh, ar, علي خليف غلير) (15 October 1941 – 8 October 2020) was a Somali politician. He was the Prime Minister of the transitional Somalia administration from 8 October 2000 to 28 October 2001. Galaydh had extensive experience in public policy, diplomacy, public administration, and business. He taught these subjects at public universities in the United States. Additionally, Galaydh was the President of the Khaatumo state. In 2017, he signed an agreement with the Somaliland government which stipulated the amendment of Somaliland's constitution, this would’ve promoted peace and stability throughout the regions of Sool, sanaag and cayn. Haroun, also called Fadhiweyn, and natively transliterated as Xarunta in Somali, was a government and headquarters of the Dervishes, headed by Faarax Mahmud Sugulle. The Darod ( so, Daarood, ar, دارود) is a Somali clan. The forefather of this clan was Sheikh Abdirahman bin Isma'il al-Jabarti, more commonly known as ''Darood''. The Dhulbahante ( so, Dhulbahante, ar, دلبةنتئ) is a Somali clan family, part of the Harti clan which itself belongs to the largest Somali clan-family — the Darod. They are the traditional inhabitants of the physiographic Nugaal in its topographic sense, and its pre-independence administrative sense, which included Doollo. Horufadhi
Horufadhi (Hor-u-fadhi, Horu-fadhi, Horufadi, Horofadhi, Horafadi) is a town in the Togdheer region of Somaliland which comes under the Buhoodle District. History Horufadhi is mentioned as Horufadi in a book published in England in 1951. According to this book, in Horufadhi, nomads of the Solemadu branch of the Habr Je'lo, Isaaq clan and the Yahia, Aligherri and Hagr Adan branch of the Dhulbahante clan used wells during the dry season. In January 2012, former rebel militias based in Horufadhi and other locations joined the Somaliland army. Dhummay
Dhummay is a town in the Sool region of Somaliland/Somalia. It is 35 miles south of Las Anod, the regional capital of Sool. Although there have been clan conflicts for a long time, they have distanced themselves from both Somaliland and Puntland, and in 2018 they held a peace agreement with the help of Ethiopia after rejecting interference from Somaliland/Puntland governments. Since then, relations with Somaliland have continued, including visits by key officials of the Somaliland government. Togdheer ( so, Togdheer, ar, تُوْجْدَيْر, Tūjdayr) is an administrative region ('' gobol'') in central Somaliland. Togdheer is bordered by Maroodi Jeex to the west, Saaxil to the north, Sanaag to the northeast, Sool to the east and Ethiopia to the south. Its capital is Burao. Buuhoodle
Buuhoodle ( so, Buuhoodle, ar, بووهودل), also known as Bohotle, is the second largest city in the Togdheer region of Somaliland and also the capital of the Cayn region under Puntland. It is a prominent border town for movements of goods to and from Somaliland and the Somali Region of Ethiopia. The surrounding district is rich in both livestock and fledgeling agriculture. Territorial dispute Buuhoodle which is the second most important city for the Dhulbahante after Las Anod is under the control of local unionist militia.
