Balli Ad
Balli Ad (Balli Cad, Balicaad, Balicad) is a town in Buhoodle District of Togdheer region in Somaliland. Balli Ad is a place name found throughout Somalis residential area. History In August 2015, Khatumo State President Ali Khalif Galaydh moved his base from Sahdheer to Balli Ad after being pursued by Somaliland forces. In September, Khatumo State held a council meeting in Balli Ad, but some of the traditional elders in Sool refused to attend. In January 2016, Somaliland forces occupied Balli Ad from Khatumo State. The Somaliland government said, "The Somalia government incited violence in this region, which is Somaliland territory. The deployment of troops is to bring peace and stability to the region." In July 2016, Clan chief Garaad Abshir Saalax, who died in Sweden, was brought to Balli Ad for burial. Togdheer
Togdheer ( so, Togdheer, ar, تُوْجْدَيْر, Tūjdayr) is an administrative region ('' gobol'') in central Somaliland. Togdheer is bordered by Maroodi Jeex to the west, Saaxil to the north, Sanaag to the northeast, Sool to the east and Ethiopia to the south. Its capital is Burao. Overview Togdheer is bordered by Maroodi Jeex from the west, Sahil to the north, Ethiopia to the south, and Sanaag & Sool to the east. With its capital at Burao (Burco), the region's name is derived from the Togdheer River, which means "Long River" in Somali. The region has an approximate population of 350,000 people. Khatumo State
Khatumo State ( so, Khaatumo; ar, ولاية خاتمة, translit=wilāyat khātimah), officially the Khatumo State of Somalia ( so, Dowlad Goboleedka Khaatumo ee Soomaaliya), was a successor to the SSC Movement. Centred on the Sool, Sanaag regions and the Buuhoodle district of Togdheer region, its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 2012. By 2015 the state ceased to function and on 20 October 2017 in Aynaba, an agreement was signed between Khatumo President and the Somaliland government which stipulated the amendment of Somaliland's constitution and to re-integrate the territory into Somaliland. However, Vice President Khatumo expressed his disagreement with the agreement and remains actively opposed to Somaliland. Ali Khalif Galaydh
Ali Khalif Galaydh ( so, Cali Khalif Galaydh, ar, علي خليف غلير) (15 October 1941 – 8 October 2020) was a Somali politician. He was the Prime Minister of the transitional Somalia administration from 8 October 2000 to 28 October 2001. Galaydh had extensive experience in public policy, diplomacy, public administration, and business. He taught these subjects at public universities in the United States. Additionally, Galaydh was the President of the Khaatumo state. In 2017, he signed an agreement with the Somaliland government which stipulated the amendment of Somaliland's constitution, this would’ve promoted peace and stability throughout the regions of Sool, sanaag and cayn. Sahdheer
Sahdheer ( so, Saaxdheer) is a town in southern Sool region of Somaliland/Somalia. Overview Saaxdheer is on the border with Ethiopia. The town lies in the Sahader Valley, due south of Las Anod. Sahdheer lies a few miles northwest of Gumburka Cagaare, the site of the greatest Darwiish victory over a joint Abyssinian-British force. Dhulbahante
The Dhulbahante ( so, Dhulbahante, ar, دلبةنتئ) is a Somali clan family, part of the Harti clan which itself belongs to the largest Somali clan-family — the Darod. They are the traditional inhabitants of the physiographic Nugaal in its topographic sense, and its pre-independence administrative sense, which included Doollo. The clan's progenitor is buried at Badweyn.
