SC Heerenveen Vrouwen
SC Heerenveen Vrouwen is a Dutch women's soccer, women's football (soccer) club based in Heerenveen representing SC Heerenveen in the Vrouwen Eredivisie, the top women's league in the Netherlands. Founded in 2007, Heerenveen was a founding member of the Vrouwen Eredivisie. After finishing last in 2008 and 2010 and second-to-last in 2009, in 2011 it attained its best result yet, finishing 4th and reaching the KNVB Women's Cup, national cup final, lost against AZ (women's football club), AZ Alkmaar. In April 2011 the club announced the women's team would be disbanded following the end of the season, but it subsequently cancelled the decision. The following season Heerenveen returned to the bottom of the table, ending last. In the 2012–13 season, Heerenveen moved in the newly founded BeNe League. Sylvia Smit
Sylvia Smit (born 4 July 1986) is a Dutch female footballer who plays as a midfielder and striker for DTS Ede in the Dutch Topklasse. She has played professional football for clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie Vrouwen and the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League. She also has over 100 appearances for the Netherlands women's national football team. Club career Smit career started at amateur clubs SETA (from Musselkanaal), SPW and SC Stadskanaal (both from Stadskanaal). In 2002 she joined Oranje Nassau, winning the KNVB Women's Cup (Dutch Cup) in the last of her three seasons at the club. She then joined Be Quick '28 in 2005 and was the top scorer of the Hoofdklasse. The 2017–18 Eredivisie Vrouwen was the eight season of the Netherlands women's professional football league. The season took place from 1 September 2017 to 25 May 2018 with nine teams. The 2015–16 Eredivisie Vrouwen was the sixth season of the Netherlands women's professional football league, and the first season since 2011–12. The Eredivisie returned after a three-season period, when it was replaced by the BeNe League, which involved teams from the Netherlands and Belgium. The season took place from 21 August 2015 to 20 May 2016 with seven teams. FC Twente won its second Eredivisie title and became Dutch champions for a fourth consecutive year (including the BeNe League period). Sisca Folkertsma
Sippie Catharine "Sisca" Folkertsma (; born 21 May 1997) is a Dutch footballer who plays as a forward for Dutch Vrouwen Eredivisie club Feyenoord and the Netherlands national team. She was member of the team that became champions at the UEFA Women's Euro 2017. After the tournament, the whole team was honoured by the Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister of Sport Edith Schippers and made Knights of the Order of Orange-Nassau. 2014–15 BeNe League
The 2014–15 BeNe League was the third and last season of the Belgium and Netherlands' women's football top level league. The defending champion was FC Twente. The season started on 29 August 2014 and was played in a single division. The season finished on 8 May 2015. Following this season, Belgium and the Netherlands will have their own top level league again. The BeNe League initiative was ended because Dutch clubs and the Dutch FA failed to come to an agreement regarding the clubs' financial participation for the following seasons. The 2012–13 season of the Women's BeNe League was the first season of the Belgium and the Netherlands' women's football top level league. Since this was the first season, the league had no reigning champion, although both countries had reigning champions from their former top leagues—Standard Liège in Belgium and ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands.
