Sylvia Smit
Sylvia Smit (born 4 July 1986) is a Dutch female footballer who plays as a midfielder and striker for DTS Ede in the Dutch Topklasse. She has played professional football for clubs in the Dutch Eredivisie Vrouwen and the Belgian-Dutch BeNe League. She also has over 100 appearances for the Netherlands women's national football team. Club career Smit career started at amateur clubs SETA (from Musselkanaal), SPW and SC Stadskanaal (both from Stadskanaal). In 2002 she joined Oranje Nassau, winning the KNVB Women's Cup (Dutch Cup) in the last of her three seasons at the club. She then joined Be Quick '28 in 2005 and was the top scorer of the Hoofdklasse. When the professional Dutch women's league ( Eredivisie Vrouwen) was formed in 2007, she joined FC Twente for the league's inaugural season and won her second Dutch Cup at the club. Stadskanaal
Stadskanaal () is a town and municipality with a population of 32,715 in the province of Groningen in the northeast of the Netherlands. It was named after the canal Stadskanaal. From 1800 until 1900 this area was ideal for its peat mining, and so the canal came to ship all the peat to Groningen, the capital of the province. In the Gronings dialect the town is called "Knoal" and the locals are called "Knoalsters". 2008–09 Eredivisie (women)
The 2008–09 Eredivisie Vrouwen was the second season of the Netherlands women's professional football league. The league took place from 21 August 2008 to 31 May 2009 with seven teams. AZ successfully defended the title and became champions for a second year running. The 84 matches of the season had a 56,365 total attendance. Roger Reijners
Roger Reijners (born 10 February 1964) is a Dutch football coach and former player. He is currently assistant manager of MVV Maastricht. Playing career Reijners turned professional with Fortuna Sittard and played in the 1–0 KNVB Cup Final defeat to Feyenoord in his first season, 1983–84. He also won four caps for the Netherlands national under-21 football team in May 1984. After becoming an Eredivisie regular, he joined MVV in early in the 1991–92 season in an exchange for Huub Driessen. Coaching career In 1995 Reijners retired from playing and moved on to the coaching staff at MVV. From 1995 to 2000, Reijners worked as an academy manager at MVV. In sport, a cap is a player's appearance in a game at international level. The term dates from the practice in the United Kingdom of awarding a cap to every player in an international match of rugby football and association football. In the early days of football, the concept of each team wearing a set of matching shirts had not been universally adopted, so each side would distinguish itself from the other by wearing a specific sort of cap. An early illustration of the first international football match between Scotland and England in 1872 shows the Scottish players wearing cowls, and the English wearing a variety of school caps. The 2009 UEFA Women's Championship, or just Women's Euro 2009, was played in Finland between 23 August and 10 September 2009. The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. Zeist () is the capital and largest town of the municipality of Zeist. The town is located in the Utrecht province of the Netherlands, east of the city of Utrecht.
